Comment Kickstarter forever (Score 1, Insightful) 91

So someone got incredibly rich from a Kickstarter campaign and a lot of contributors got screwed. We refuse to learn from that. Lets put that in the past (and mod down anyone who mentions it) and move on to funding the next person who wants to make a lot of money off of us. Maybe we can even finance another Hollywood movie in return for another broken promise.

Comment Never buy Nvidia (Score 0) 117

Last year I bought the Nvidia Note 7 tablet based on the promise (from what I thought was a trustworthy company) that Android 5 would be released for it "real soon". That promised slipped to February 2015. When February 2015 came and went and there was still no Android 5 update available, Nvidia simply stopped responding to people who were asking about their promised update. They seem quite glad to screw the customer. I've bought a number of Nvidia products in the past for myself and friends, but I'll never buy another.

I did manage to get Wolfram to give me that set of numbers, but they are neither interesting nor informative. I would be much more interested in seeing how day on the planet Pluto compares to night with moonlight on planet earth. Can anyone get that number from Wolfram?

Pretty useless. That link says the sunlight on Pluto is about 1.4 x average solar irradiance at Pluto. WTF??? They also give a comparison to Neptune, but unless you've actually been to Neptune that isn't of much use either. What they don't give is a comparison to Earth or (much more useful) Earth in the light of the full moon.

There are other valid uses other than racism I just want to use it to keep the people with a Y chromosome deficiency away from my jobs recruiting website. I do that now by putting plenty of links to Ophra.com on the website and that works pretty well for diverting away most of the unwanted traffic, but every once in a while an unwanted applicant sneaks through.

Think about how that might not work out well for you, Barack. You'll be better off if you just keep saying "there is no precedent for that" when people suggest a good idea that you don't want to implement, and ignoring precedent the rest of the time. Let the crackers see your whitehouse.gov website, it isn't like you really listen to any of the petitions on it anyway.
