If you have spent $1000 on a gaming rig and haven't figured out that a free start menu replacement program can eliminate the need to see the start screen (Metro) then I guess you have a right to complain.

Tall screens do exist at commodity prices. Get a wide screen monitor that pivots and rotate it to portrait mode. Voila, a tall screen.
P.S. Sorry couldn't resist.
So because you don't like the Lenovo keyboard layout it is Microsoft's fault and somehow made it a standard?
Good one!
So instead of doing the sensible thing and leaving your phone activity for a more appropriate place than behind the wheel of a vehicle I should tie up the court system and waste tax dollars.
Are we really at the point where people just can't help being connected 24/7 to their phones?
I guess I'm missing something here. What is the big deal if HDMI audio is turned off when using DVI since DVI doesn't carry an audio signal anyway?
I have to admit that I didn't read the article but...
It would be nice to see how closed access publishers fair by comparison.
So you think that if the federal government disappeared tomorrow that all the problems you mentioned would go away too? Isn't it more logical that all that mess will just filter down to the state, county and city levels?
So you would rather spend $250 for a 150GB SSD drive instead of $60 for the smallest magnetic drive you could get (lets assume 320GB) just so you can fill the drive and not feel like you are wasting storage space?
Sorry, I don't follow the logic.
Actually if "want something that works almost like Windows XP or Windows 7" then get a start menu replacement installed on Windows 8 and have it boot directly to the desktop. All Microsoft needs to do to alleviate most of the problems with Windows 8 is bring back an actual start menu button (not a button that takes you to the Metro interface).
Actually the geologist learned more than the Mars rovers combined since the rovers didn't land on the moon. Its hard to learn more about the moon than a live person when you are millions of miles away.
Actually I can already use my laptop "for multiple days in a row without recharging (with sleep mode enabled between sessions of course)". It still has a total battery life of ~6-8hrs but if I only use it an hour or two a day it lasts for days between charges).
If we are thinking of the same case. The person that bought text books out of country and resold them in the US just won at the Supreme Court level. It was ruled that the right of first sale still applied.
I would also look at anything plugged into the desktop that isn't plugged into the notebook (e.g. printer, keyboard, mouse, wired network connection. etc.). It could be one of these devices shorting out the motherboard in some weird way.
But what if you only eat the asparagus and ride the bus?
Just to be clarify it is 1000 cubic centimeters = 1 litre = 1kg of water.
I'm not sure what a sq/cm is.
