Offices?

His first step should be getting rid of those so he can keep the staff under constant surveillance, and ideally packed four or six to a table to maximize team communication and learning. Follow agile development methods and experiment with seating arrangements before locking things down and setting up the camera so you can monitor from home if needed.

Make sure none of them have keys to the office and set up a punchcard machine. Link punctuality to pay and make sure they work weekends once in a while too (a measure of team devotion). I'd also recommend keeping the washroom locked and having a signout sheet for the key so you can monitor whether they are wasting time or drinking too much coffee. Hover when possible.

Give an Internet Freedom Disk 342

An anonymous reader, perhaps the blogger himself, writes to tell us about a new blog aimed at getting non-techies excited over the idea of running from a Live CD. The blogger doesn't call it that, preferring instead "Internet Freedom Disk"; Linux is never mentioned. The submitter adds: "This is just a great gift to drop on your non-geek friends and potentially wake up a sleeping giant." Cheap, last-minute, and you can make them yourself. The blogger isn't selling anything; he provides links to Ubuntu and Knoppix Live CDs. Or pick your favorite.

Pyschonauts Now Back-Compat on 360 64

The much requested addition of backwards compatability for Psychonauts has reached the Xbox 360, reports the British Gaming Blog. The list also adds support for titles like Ultimate Spider-Man, Buffy, Shenmue II and ... Aquaman. The list was dropped early, so don't put the discs in quite yet and expect them to work. Still ... yay Psychonauts.
