dmmiller2k writes: "This article discusses new type of camera invented by a start-up that captures enough image data to refocus later or even to render in 3D when the image is later viewed.

Wow! One step closer to Harry Potter style newspapers. All we need is a mechanism for printing these (think electronic ink or something derived thereof). Here's how it works: http://www.lytro.com/science_inside"

Submission + - Space, the Final Shuttle (google.com)

dmmiller2k writes: "Wow! Imagine how they actually got the original Captain Kirk, William Shatner, to record this modified version of the opening voiceover during the theme song:

General Motors Co. said its new Chevrolet Volt electric car is expected to get 230 miles per gallon in city driving as the auto maker outlined a raft of product introductions. At that rating, the Volt would dwarf any offering from a mass-market brand, including Toyota Motor Corp.'s Prius. It also could deliver a major boost to GM efforts to cultivate a green image, a key element of the company's restructuring efforts. The company said the car will use 25 kilowatt hours per every 100 miles driven.
