Variety.com reports that the trade organization everybody loves to hate is facing a potential class action lawsuit as a result of its aggressive anti-customer tactics. From the article: "The case — filed in Oregon and asserting claims under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act — details the RIAA's alleged use of 'illegal and flawed' methods when investigating people for downloading or swapping copyrighted songs without paying for them." While there is no guarantee that class-action status will be granted to the case, it has the potential to be one of the strongest rebuttals yet to the record business' trade organization."

In fact, Houston Astros' pitcher Jason Jennings credits the device with improving his game last summer. From the article: "Eventually, more than two-thirds of the roster had piled on and turned this team into baseball's official iSquad. Every player gets his own custom set of videos loaded onto his personal iPod, sorted by date, hitter, pitcher and opponent — and updated every week or so.""

According to the article from Orbitcast: "It's an ingenious method of grabbing snippets of audio, identifying the song and allowing the user the option to purchase that song. This patent is to date the most solid information yet that Apple actually might be considering integration with satellite radio.""
