Comment Re:Randall Munroe (Score 3, Funny) 169

Hint: Being near-circular in body shape is not the normal human shape. It's called obesity.

Other hint: Being quite thin and have a big, round head is (or should be) the normal condition of at least 50% of the human population (men + prepubescent children). The remaining 40-something % is (or should be) also quite thin with a big, round head, but often includes two lumps on the chest area. Then, for about 50% of the human population, at certain points in their lives they will sport another, smaller thin object with a round head.

Clearly the giant monster and alien attack are merely stand-ins for the damage done by corrupt politicians and idiot bosses (like those at Electronic Arts), respectively. How I wish the first had a single monstrous eye and clawed arms and an omnimuous black finishing in real life, it would make recognising them much easier. However, representing idiot bosses using UFOs was not required - you usually notice right away they are not of this world.

No. However, unlike a simulation, where the only values taken into account are those put in by the programmers and the car's designers (for stuff like wear-rates of mechanical parts), a test track will at least show values closer to real use, and may reveal unexpected hardware failures.

The bar that in Europe is placed much higher than (apparently) in the ole US of A, a concept that Uber appears to have some trouble grasping (not so Uber, eh?). So a business model that might work well in North America due to the abyssimal suckage of 'real' taxis there comes up at the bottom of the barrel at the other side of the Atlantic.
