Comment Disappointment? (Score 2) 612

Are you disappointed in the direct Apple has taken over the last few years with a closed ecosystem, mild lock-in, and suing competitors? Can you comment on what you might have done differently if you had been the CEO? Where do you see Apple focusing in the future?

Comment Tier *trials*, cap removed elsewhere (Score 2) 329

The article doesn't say they're definitely implementing tiered pricing for everyone, they're trying it in a few markets.. In markets where tiered pricing is not being trialed, the caps are completely removed.

Comment It's worth the trip (Score 2) 102

I went to Memphis for Blues and the food, and decided to go over to Sun Studios (Stax Records is also in town and pretty interesting as well). They have a fair amount of memorabilia and they tell you a lot of interesting facts, though if you're a huge fan of that music, you probably already know those facts. If you're stuck in Memphis for 24hrs, it's not near Beale St, but it's close enough, and worth the effort.

Submission + - Glenn Beck Does Not Understand Net Neutrality

An anonymous reader writes: Apparently Net Neutrality is so confusing that Glenn Beck and the expert they bring in do not understand what it means either. Today, The Glenn Beck Show (on Fox News Network) aired a segment where they appear to compare net neutrality to "giving away radios". Hopefully the FCC has a better grasp of the concept when they make their decision on Thursday when they vote to begin crafting regulations.

Comment Could the windbelt work as well? (Score 1) 113

I'd wondered before if something like the windbelt (http://hardware.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=08/09/11/2257228) would work in a small stream or river. You would have the same constant flow over the belt, and I'd guess it would create the same oscillations (though probably not as much). I'm not an engineer, just curious.

Feed news.com: Google pitches Gphones to Verizon (news.com)

Google is supposedly in serious talks with Verizon Wireless about using its upcoming Google-powered phones on its network, but a deal between the two companies is pretty unlikely.
