I don't hire folks that hop around. It is just not worth my effort. If I want temporary help I use one of those "warm body" agencies

"Should disabled users stick with outdated, vulnerable, and unsupported Linux distros or ..." Older versions may be unsupported, but thry still work. Vulnerable to what? Are you a bank? Give it somr time, patches happen.

I suggest Linux Mint 13 Mate. easy to adapt to coming from XP, and being a Long Term Support version nearly maintenance free. my wife is a parallel, she adapted within a couple days.
