That's about right. I had to drop out of college due to some health problems. I had an artificial leg that started te hurt so much that it was causing mental problems for me concentrating. I wouldn't ever go out to have fun because of it either.

After 6 years I have my first chance at a stable job. I don't ask for help much, but those loans are threatening me from even starting work.

I don't have the money for a new leg. I'm on crutches. I crushed my hand in my crutches so I have lost some of the function in 3/5 fingers. The crutches just make it worse. Hopefully I don't get carpel tunnel walking 6 miles a day.

I've taken a few handouts as far as good and shelter. I was sleeping outside for 2 months. But I have no plans to go onto SSI even though I could probably get it. If my student loans fuck me over starting this job, the plan is to hang myself at the student loan org.

I've set up the paperwork so no one can claim they didn't know. I'm tired of the government jamming things I don't need and/or are actively detrimental into my face while ignoring what I do need.

There is a lot of truth to this "not having a choice" thing.

I ran away from home in NY about 6 months ago. I was working at Target for about $7.25 an hour with an artificial leg. Things weren't going too horribly for having to run around a store that huge being handicaped.

Then the loan sharks started coming. The kept calling the company until they started upping my hours. I was biking into work 7 miles each way because I didn't have that much money.

The extra load started causing mechanical problems with my fake leg and because of the extra hours, I lost my health medicaid health insurance because I was making too much money to keep the insurrance, but too little to pay for leg repairs, a car, and loans at the same time.

So I left for Washington to hang myself at Nela (the student loan organization.)

Over time and talking with people, I decided to give things another try because I do have a computer technical background. Casher again isn't an option since my leg is now cracking in half with no way to fix it.

It looks like I may be getting a NOC Engineer job this week. Unfortunately, walknig 4-6 miles a day on crutches is making my fingers go numb on my left hand.

I called the student loan organization not too long ago. If this doesn't work out because I can't type anymore, I will be hanging myself there. Because there isn't any other choice. That is what our current government is about.

I know I can download this or that tweak to make GNOME 3 behave like GNOME 2, but I'm interested in hearing arguments about how exactly these interface changes have improved the way you work over the old style.

And what do you gain by having all of the desktops functioning exactly the same? This is the first desktop on Linux that actually uses the application paragrim at its base. You're going to have to pry it from my cold dead hands since ther is NOTHING else similar to switch to. At least you can always go to XFCE or KDE or something else similar.

Would you be upset if you were the designer of the device and manufacturer started putting out something a bit "too" similar to your product? Do you truly believe no further inspection is really necessary?

For a console that crashed and burned, it sure is following the same standard patterns of a normal 5-year Nintendo console lifecycle. I'm pretty sure they were still much more profitable this generation than the GameCube generation even including this years sales.

I found the trick with Wii games was to go into them with an open mind and try not set too many expectations. You'll enjoy them a lot more that way. There is a distinct culture difference in Wii games that just flies over the heads of many people. (Example: Nintendo games tend to read like a book. They don't do voiced dialog. That is not necessarily a minus even though people like to pretend it is.)

We are seeing a lot of paragrim shifts in software from the tablet interfaces appearing in projects such as Gnome 3 and the motion controls appearing in the Wii or Kinect. The holdouts will only move forward kicking and screaming.

The Gnome crowd is one of the most conservative around. The interface didn't have anything but small incremental changes for about 10 years. These are the people you least want to spring something big on since they have no interest in new concepts or anything bleeding edge.

But luckly, even if Gnome 3 turns out to be a dead end, because of all of the forks that are out there, one can be chosen to be the new official Gnome 4. I personally really don't mind Gnome 3 though. The use of the Windows/Meta key is fantastic.

Is a TV set or Microwave oven that much different than a song or a book? The basic premise that a work in digital form can be replicated without depleting the inventory of the author is simply mistaking the the form for the function. The form may be bits and bytes. The function is someone's work product. Unless he proposes putting all authors and on the public teat, I am at a loss to see how anyone can keep writing books any more than I can see why anyone would stock more microwave's in a store from which anyone take anything they wanted.
