The Core2 iMac doesn't have firmware for the recovery AFAIK. If there was a firmware update that let it and all they had to do was show me how to get into it then f*k me and f*k them.
Luckily the internet came to my rescue with a torrent of the 10.8 install image. No more monies for Apple.
I'm totally not going to do it again.
68k to PPC was a disaster, applications that didn't need to be just PPC were just PPC. Everyone who had a recent 68k at the time was boned very quickly. If it wasn't for CodeWarrior (I loved the sh*t out of that back in the day) that transition would have been even more disastrous.
PPC to x86 Apple just turned around and spit in everyone's [existing ppc userbase] face. They promised more updates that they never delivered and the patches they pushed out just made the platform slower and slower. My PowerBook would run like greased lightning with a clean OS install, HD videos and the works. Let MacOS update it self and it suddenly grew 10 years older with a few patches. I did try formatting it and starting from scratch but it ended up with the exact same behavior.
I'm not going through another architecture migration because Apple just doesn't care about their existing user base, they already have their money.
My current iMac x86 doesn't have firmware to reinstall the OS, so after the HDD failed I found I was totally screwed. The Apple store I visited told me I would have to purchase apple care to reinstall MacOS since it's now physical media free (I already had a new drive in it). After this attempt to bend me over, I'm not taking another slap to the face.
The demo video they showed looks like it's entirely quick time events. Which means as pretty as this game may be, it'll be complete garbage.
Quick time events ruin everything they're put in and make the game suck. I cant think of any example where they actually add anything but frustration. You can't pay attention to the action that they trigger because you have to focus on hitting the combination it throws up on the screen.
AND Then we all have to start using http://slashdot.slashdot./ I guess this gives these orgs the ability to have (using their examples) http://www.pepsi/ (I had to fight SO hard not to add
Obviously they need to lock an IT jockey in each server *CAGE* and they will be responsible for those racks 24/7. Food should be brought them in pellet form and water dispensed from a large water bottle that requires it be licked to release it's Dihydrogen oxide goodness. Replace the floors with screens so they don't need to install any sanitary facilities other than like a garden hose to hose it down every once and a while. Even make it into an attraction and charge fees to tourists to view.
IT jockey's arent people are they? If so this idea is wrong. Now if they were treated with some dignity at least then that's different. Also if you get paid for every hour you're on site or compensated accordingly then I probably wouldn't complain about making piles of money
I voiced my complaint to my local representative and got back a form letter that said basically everyone who read the legislation is wrong and C-11 is nothing but puppy dogs and unicorns.
So if I'm a presidential candidate, any search for my last name should go to me? That's fucking ridiculous. The internet is a big place that includes THE WORLD, I could see there being a problem if Rick Santorum was the ONLY Santorum on the planet though this is not the case. Because someone has a last name doesn't mean they are entitled to the top results. That wouldn't even work.
I really like this bit of word recognition:

This is ridiculously old technology. Just about every other mobile browser does this now other than maybe IE on Windows phones and Safari on IOS. BlackBerry's have been doing this since 2005, as someone else mentioned Opera has had it since 2009, Bolt Browser has this feature as well. So I am to believe that a browser technology that's been around for 6 years is redefining browsers now? Way to grab on to an old feature and herald it as something new and ground breaking.
Yea, sucks to be them. Mine was first.
Will it be a weighted companion core? I suppose it is, it's a lighter core than the others. They totally need to put a heart on the diagrams for it.
A Portal reference had to be made.
How's Facebook's stock handling this? The quake was just north north east of FarmVille. Productivity everywhere just increased.
What 8:11pm what timezone? Does SkyNet only take over one timezone at a time? What if it had a DST bug and never goes off in some timezones like iPhones?
