Agreed. This kid isn't trying to "explore a computer" he's just doing the kinds of things an 18-month-old kid does -- bang on some stuff, make some noise, etc. This father is really just engaging in some wishful thinking if he thinks it's more than that. Then again, isn't everyone's child a prodigy?.
If you read down further in that article there is a section that states "According to an archived Russian webpage (purportedly written by the Russian Strategic Rocket Forces), UVB-76 is used to transfer orders to military personnel, along with the time at which they should be executed." The citation for this, however, is an unavailable Wayback Machine archived page. Maybe it's being Slashdotted now but it's not helping the veracity of these claims. Yeah, this is a crappy submission. All it links is a Wikipedia page and nothing of substance.
The fact that Taco submitted this is a nice reflection of the declining state of Slashdot submissions -- if Taco doesn't give a fuck, then why should anyone else?
Oh that's right... It isn't. But hey, thanks for trying to post something all edgy or controversial or whatever the hell you think it is, kdawson.
I've thought about doing that many a time, but Slashdot just wouldn't feel like Slashdot to me anymore without one dedicated troll editor. I know you can make that case for (m)any other editors, but kdawson is by far the king of schlock on here.
The cost to pick up one of the shuttles is almost $30 million. They aren't being sold (at this point anyway); that number is allegedly just the cost to clean up the shuttle (removing hazardous materials, etc.), get it display-worthy, and transport it to its final location.

So your mother fucked the sheets after your dad dropped his load prematurely on them?
No, the fatal flaw is that a cloaked object moving at warp speed emits a slight subspace variance. Adversaries performing an antiproton scan may also be a problem.
I'm sorry, what is Google's core business?
Advertising.
(And no, I'm not referring to that Super Bowl ad!)
You should care becuase 4chan has been the source of all internet humor for several years now.
If you don't want that on your network then you don't become an ISP.

(May as well just get that one out of the way)
The Borg decided to assimilate Earth over Christmas and hence they now have regenerative gingerbread house technology, you insensitive clod.
Apparently the new "laws" actually just prescribe getting blasphemous sites Slashdotted instead of actively taking them down.
Slashdot... A tool of the oppressor(?)
