The article says they're scanning against hashes of known child porn. They're not determining if a random image contains child porn, just if it matches against known hashes.

It's not an issue unique to google. It's there for any of the email providers. I randomly get email for other people in my hotmail and yahoo accounts. The issue is that people make mistakes, or are just mistaken about their email account. Now, that could still potentially leave you on the hook if someone starts sending you crap. At that point you just have to hope to be able to prove that.

They're using automated software to scan against hashes of known child porn. They're not just up and viewing peoples email here. Child porn is a serious enough problem, and there is no legal reason for you to have child porn. The situation would be different if the legality of the files themselves would be questionable.

Keyboard cases are rare for new android phones. It's one of the downsides to having multiple manufacturers and designs. I haven't dug too deep yet, but of the current gen devices, I can only find a keyboard for the S5.

As for number three.... Netflix is willing to provide their CDN hardware to ISPs for free. The ISP just has to house the hardware. I don't know enough about how all the back end works, so fair and equitable is up in the air. But, Verizon doesn't want to go that route without getting paid either.

Verizon is intentionally restricting traffic flow, degrading the quality of service for THEIR paying customers. It really doesn't matter about the rest. They're willing to make their paying customers suffer. However, Netflix and Level 3 are willing to work with Verizon to resolve the issue. I'm not saying Verizon is wrong for wanting additional compensation in the peerage agreements, but they're going above and beyond at the expense of their own customers.

That, and the acronym BoA would of been too positive an influence on Bank of America's image.

Seriously? Personal accountability should always be first and foremost. You, as a person, should be responsible for your actions. You're suggesting that the companies should be forced to be accountable for you. You're saying it's ok for our populace to not care they don't know the first thing about what they're doing. Someone else will take care of it for them.

A customer's stupidity isn't the fault of the company, it's the fault of the customer. It's all well and good to want the company to change things and to express that. It's not ok to blame them for your inability to understand what you're getting into and make the FTC clean up your mess.
