Comment Re:The unexpected hazard... (Score 1) 894

i remember in '66 when Star Trek first came out and my best friend was the only one in the neighborhood rich enough to own a color tv. All the kids would gather at their house entranced by the amazing sci-fi stories rendered in glorious colors. It was a great time to be a kid, walking to and from school every day, stopping by the creek to watch the tadpoles growing up, sleeping with all the windows and doors open. Yup, Ima geezer!!!

Comment Not just journalism (Score 1) 181

This is evident in more than journalism. It is evident everywhere. Quite simply, we cannot rule ourselves which in this case means throttling back to a point where we can cope with the deluge of stimulus that technology has pressed upon us. As far as I can tell, the quality of goods and services across the board has gone down. Of course I'm looking at it from the bottom of the dung pile, so I expect for the time being, the elites are still getting some pretty good stuff. The WalMart crowd is getting stuff that used to go only to third world countries. Remember this: The only advantage the elites have is that they will be the last to starve.

Comment MIKKO, UDABES! (Score 1) 248

THANK YOU MIKKO! After 9-11, the U.S. interdiction efforts quickly morphed from international terrorism to internations and domestic terrorism with equal emphasis placed on both. IMHO, the U.S. Govt is currently more concerned about domestic terrorism than about foreign operatives. Sorry Mikko, you are wrong on that count.
