that lib64 hack has only gotta be a temp workaround. I see that now.

glibc is having problems because of my kernel being way to new. perhaps it is time to get some food... mmm... burger...

Someone has hardcoded /lib64 as the install directory. Nasty hack. This demonstrates the need for more variable useage, such as in the cross-lfs scripts. I guess that it is remenent of the days when 64bit was new and 32bit was mainstream. Now that 32bit is obsolete on most new CPUs, the move should be made across to full 64bit libaries in the /lib directory and 32bit libraries should be installed to /lib32

Well, I might not currently have the skills that ryan (of cross-lfs fame) has, however, I can understand what he is writing, and I am able to translate it for others. This is important for LFS to continue.

Compile, compile, compile...

Well, the x86_64 system is slowly comming along. This challenge is good. I have been having heaps of problems getting the build to work with aLFS, however I think I have just about cracked it. The problem has been in the glibc library in the new build being dissasociated with the host system. It still doesn't work. :(

That was a fun weekend... bbq at karls. My head is still feeling it, however with a little more food and exercise I sould be able to improve my recovery time. :)

Slept last night and didn't make it to dayals to get the dvds, gonna see jodie today in town and see if she has them.

My head is lacking fuel. I need to get some good food and good exercise. After more than a decade of being unsure, I know I need a good refreshment and change. Actually, I have never learnt to fuel myself and I really need to learn. All that brain washing from the religious zealots has caused this, and I need to retrain myself to beat their closed off isolated view of the world. Sectarians beware you are next in my scope now that I have obliterated the greens.

The building is moving along quickly. Soon I hope to have the full system down and finished. Then it is a case of automating nightly builds combined with curl. To do that I must get some scripts working. Ryans scripts look like a good model to follow.

No, I am not going to work. I am going to rebuild build my linux system so that it is a pure 64 bit machine. I will document all my work so that others can see how it is done. None of this waiting around for some apt-get crap to become available, lets get my hands dirty and compile a new toolchain!

I have found that it is hard to get to CBD without a large size effort. Oh well... perhaps I need to try some white compressed stuff. Doesn't matter. I'll get down to long beach sometime later in the week. Gotta get the drive again when I am there.

The final cupboard is almost complete. I will not be doing another one, except perhaps a mother ship to host the giver of life. I need to clean the joint up so I can make room for the tabletop games on monday!!! YAY!!! They will be soooooo cooool.
