Why would I pay Fuxtel $100 per month to watch 1 or 2 shows I actually like & get shovelled 100 others I could care care less about, most of them reruns or months/years old...?

People download for all sorts of reasons, like avoiding being exposed to ad-infested 42min shows with 20mins of brain-dead shovelware being forced down our optic nerves.

You might like to take a closer look at our recently deposed PM & self-confessed atheist here down under to see that religious views have little to do with competency, character or moral fibre, especially when it comes to politicians. Me, personally - I'd prefer a leader who I know doesn't think they're God, make of that what you will. :)

Email, web browsing, RSS, file transfers...everyone uses those across many client apps, but with only a few common protocol standards. The issue is settling on a social network standard of some kind, which users can plug into with their choice of front end.

gReader on droid - there is no substitute. Been using it since day 1 of owning my 1st droid. Someone pls don't tell me it's going to stop working come July....? *cringe*

If HBO were really cunning & smart, they would have floated each ep as a kickstarter project & said they're not releasing it until it hits $xxx. Then they could just seed a few torrents & let us chumps pay for distribution & word-of-mouth reviews/free advertising.

Someone with an already popular show & loyal fan base is bound to try this soon, just surprised they haven't yet.

I had the solution for virus/malware/spammers years ago: 6-12 of them each day hanging by their ankles naked in Times Square (or some other central location), on international tv for the duration; crowd can go to town on them from a short distance with verbal & organic 'substance' abuse of choice (just no serious/major physical damage allowed). I think within 6 months the problem would be down to 5-10% of the volumes it is now. :)

I bemoan the days I stopped using Usenet...I think everything went downhill after that (& when they allowed non-plaintext email formats)...*sigh*.

It went out the door soon after "don't be apathetic".
