On the other hand, heat built up by tidal forcing of Jupiter will also not be able to escape easily, through such a thick crust. Remember that we have many deep-ocean creatures on earth, where there is no light, and the water is so cold that it is barely liquid. (zero to three degrees Celsius).

Actually, it has been estimated there are so many deep-ocean species, that bioluminescence might be the most common method of communication on earth.

There is so much music, that it is almost impossible to be truly different than everything else. And should an artist be required/expected to test new work with all other previous music ever made? That would be impossible. And where do you draw the line? Four similar bars? Two similar notes in a sequence? A same text line in a refrain? Having the same theme (as there are millions of songs about love)? Having the same combination of instruments?

Many people on Slashdot (including myself) work in IT, many as programmers. So we know how broken and buggy most (if not all) software is. So we are hesitant to hand over more and more aspects of our lives (that work perfectly well without software) to software, knowing that we will encounter problems with it. As the aspects become more essential. Such as money, and health, we grow more hesitant.
