Wall clock time? My PC never seems to be waiting on something being drawn, so I'm not sure why graphical fluff would be a problem.
I can't talk about runtimes, but my window manager is currently taking up less than 3% of my CPU. If yours is sucking up dramatically more than that then I'm somewhat surprised...
Just to say - I love the awesome bar. I think it's, well, awesome. Makes it so much easier finding something I know I looked at recently, but can't remember exactly where.
Hacker News is my current favourite alternative.

As TFA says, they didn't show them the actual people, they showed them a CGI version of the dance moves that the people had carried out, put together using motion capture.
ATI graphics cards work just fine with Intel processors. I don't believe there's any move to stop them doing so when they rebrand.
They can give the AMD brand a big boost by associating it directly with the graphics cards - and it will probably mean that people buying an AMD graphics card will be more likely to buy an AMD processor to go with it.
You do only need the three books. Nobody is forcing you to buy any other books if you don't want them.
And you can have just as much original thought and creativity in 4th edition as in any of the others.
FPS games tend to spawn most things in front of you.
Top-down games spawn all around you, because you can see behind you just as well as you can see in front of you.
Looking in only one direction at a time would be crippling.
