I'll never buy another Apple product, until they learn to play nice. Sure, no company is perfect, they all make mistakes and can get involved in silly litigious dilemmas. But I cannot, in good faith, back a company that is seeking a monopoly in this fashion. Go Fuck yourself Apple!

I had looked for something exactly like this sometime ago and I had considered writing my own. It needs more documentation, but it works nicely. Thank you for pointing out this app.

I can understand the hull they're using for testing in a controlled area, but why not just build a crappy boat with hull and test with that. They won't be able to deploy this model to the ocean, something more like a submarine that travels on the surface would be a better design.

I agree, I've played Civ since the very first version and it will always end up with me bring crushed or me crushing everyone (or at least the potential to do so). I'm kind of envious of his 'balance' he has going on. The most balance I ever saw was an ongoing battle I had with an enemy that lasted several centuries...I had more tech he had more units, it was an interesting war with me finally winning, but that scenario only ever happened once.

And don't get me started on the AI...

IMO we'll find a way to travel faster than light. It seems for almost every barrier that is in front of us we tend to find ways around it.

When apps become browser-based apps, we 'might' see more switching. But I still doubt that...I had a few (non-techie) friends that wanted the next Windows desperately, even though they didn't really need it, they only used it for nothing more than a simple OS, and when they got it they complained about how this and that was changed. One was totally confused that the Start button was gone. Yet if I mention changing to Linux, they don't want to, even though the change required is not much different than the previous Windows OS.

I don't think Linux is the problem, people are the problem. And until the general population is willing to accept change, we'll be stuck here forever.

Maybe they don't have a problem or at least one as you see it. You can't attribute a problem that you think as important and expect everyone to respond as you wish them to. I have a Nexus and think it's an awesome phone, no complaints.

When I first read the headlines I thought it was some amazing technology, but then after reading it, I saw it was merely a psychological trick. It would only affect you momentarily while you gather your wits, and even less time now that you know they've made a 'gun' to do just this.

When they create a gun to do this , then we'll be really onto silencing people.

No, Apple stole it as well. Xerox tried suing them for it, and Apple tried suing Microsoft as well, but the courts at the time didn't understand the implications. In all of those cases they were thrown out.

Can someone explain why it is referred to as tidal locking? I understand the physics, but the name seems like an odd choice.

I despise the fact that the term UFO infers to little green men in their intergalactic flying saucer. You can't say UFO openly without people looking at you strangely.

So when can we expect a price cut on the iPhone? Or maybe the next model will be cheaper?
