I find it interesting that you didn't use the phrase "protect the individual". In order for an person to be empowered a person must be protected from those who would remove that power. Hell, we see many here who would support a system that would favor a system that offers no protection against entities who want nothing but to profit from their loss.

That is ride sharing. Uber, Lyft, and the others are arranging drivers for hire. Just pointing out the obvious here.

Isn't the bottom line here though to protect the riders? Even it takes being cleared in a thousand jurisdictions, no one should be allowed to be put in a position where they could harm another if they have ever done so in the past.

It should be law that the management of companies who place the lives of others in danger without performing due diligence to screen their subcontractors and employees will be subject to the same punishment as those that they subcontract to to provide services for the crimes their subcontractors or employees commit.

It just seems to make sense to me that a payer of medical bills would collect information that would confirm the validity of the bills that they were paying. Sharing that aforesaid information is a totally different ball of wax though.

Science limits people with its rules that facts must be proveable. Art has no limits, and allows people to explore everything that can be imagined. Both have there place though, and it would be a shame for market forces to favor one above the other.
