There is a kernel of truth to it. Console players are inherently limited in what they can grow into. I get what you are saying and PCmasterrace takes it WAY too far. Regardless of the history you think supports it, the MODERN console market is VERY different from the Nintendo generation. Nintendo games were hard, its a false comparison to say today's CoD player would be the same kid that played Battletoads or Lion King.

Consoles are toys. I say this as someone who OWNED a full size stand up Asteroids game when i was in the 4th grade. (post-crash purchase for $100). Pardon me while i unhook my 144HZ monitor and hook up my triple-head monitor system for some racing immersion using a steering wheel from the Playstation 2 era.. Try that on your console. Consoles are cool, but they are still jsut toys compared to a proper PC.

The important part to take away from Democracy is that every person is automatically a participant. Just as we tempered raw democracy with Republic ideals, so too have we amended the laws since the 30s to account for changing tech. The point remains, these arent archaic, outdated laws. Common carrier principals are pretty sound considering we spent almost a century refining it.

Not everyone can snake HDMI. An HDMI cable can EASILY cost more than $50 for certain runs, even from monoprice. Further, splitting HDMI to multiple monitors is a giant hassle sometimes. $50 for a custom remote HDMI system is DAMN impressive. This is WAY cheaper then i thought it would be. You arent seeing outside of your tiny box.

No, hardware vendors are selling machines, not Valve. Or you can make your own. This is what im talking about, the Steam Box is an IDEA, not a singular machine or design. Its a way of using what you have to make your own, or buy a fully formed dedicated box. Its an alternative and wont fit into any one pre-existing container currently on the market. Its a console built from the ground up organically, not empirically from the top down. I have a good/better/best Steam Machine setup since the concept was first announced in 2012. Its not a box, its a way to dedicate hardware to play games.
