Comment Re:Is Bitcoin a bigger bubble than market cap? (Score 2) 221

Stock prices are part real company value (current assets and profit), part speculation on future profits, part speculation on future stock price based on various theories ranging from price curve shapes to planet alignment. Changes to profit outlooks for a company still have strong effects on stock prices so they are not completely disconnected.

The price of Bitcoin is however purely based on how many are currently buying hoping to sell later at a higher price, compared to how many are selling now at the current price. When people realize that the size of the total cryptocurrency market can grow infinitely by adding more and more cryptocurrencies, meaning zero scarcity, meaning infinite inflation, the Bitcoin bubble will burst because its price is all about the idea that it is a scarcity. The ability to easily and automatically exchange back and forth between CCs takes away from the value of each individual CC, making it all about the total CC market.

The problem is that FF 57 is still slower than Edge, Chrome, Safari, Opera, Brave, Vivaldi, Konqueror, and all of the other modern browsers out there.

Except that that's wrong. My main browser for the last two years has been Opera, on Linux, Mac and Windows desktops. Opera is faster than at least Chrome, Safari, Vivaldi and Edge. Firefox 57 is faster than Opera and is now my browser of choice again. With "faster" I mean subjective responsiveness, how fast it feels.

Can I completely disable Google Assistant? I can't think of a moment where I ever would prefer talking to my computer over typing. At public transport people would think I was a psycho talking to myself. At home, my partner would come 10 seconds later asking "excuse me, what did you say?" thinking I said something to her. In an office space, people would think I should shut up and just use the keyboard like a normal person.

The Slashdot community used to love throwing out bath water full of babies to fix underlying architectural problems. We were proud of cleaning up shit for the long term even when it caused short term pain. Nowadays, it's just the opposite.
