Get rid of street parking entirely. Make it a flat $1000 fine if you park your car on the street. The only vehicles that should be allowed to park on the street should be delivery vehicles who would pay a fee for the privilege.

This would also work wonders for traffic which would greatly reduce pollution and improve quality of life.

Comment Winter is coming for tech firms (Score 1) 109

The current recession is going to take a bite out of the large tech companies. The next one in line is Facebook, you can see Zuckerberg knows that the whole Meta thing isn't working out and is losing patience with workers obsessed with perks. Netflix is losing customers, Google has regulators breathing down their neck, etc.

While most of the workers who get axed should find new employment it will more than likely be a big step down. They are going to have to get used to regular jobs with regular benefits until the economy is fixed.

The problem is there is no way to measure the condition of the battery in a used EV. If the original owner was keeping it strictly charged in the 20%-80% range then it will still have a lot of life. If the owner was letting it get near empty all the time and then fast charging it then it will likely need replacement sooner rather than later.

Doesn't need to be that complicated. As follows: Alice buys the car Bob wants for 28K on 12/31 Bob buys the car Alice wants for 28K on 12/31 Bob and Alice sell each other's cars back to each other on 1/1. Next 12/31 Bob and Alice buy each other's cars for 24K Next 1/1 Bob and Alice sell each other's cars back to each other on 1/1 for 24K

And so on and so forth. They don't even have to stop when they have gotten 28K in credits. They can keep selling the cars to each other for 4K and get the credit every year.

I didn't fall for anything. The whole endgame for the car manufacturers moving to EVs was to layoff workers. That is why they have been so enthusiastic in supporting the transition. The American people have been sold a phony narrative that going to green energy would create millions of high-paying jobs. That was never going to happen and this is just proof of that.
