Oh yeah, wasn't saying that a the 6502 or a subreddit was responsible for the rise in asm, just pointing out that it's still popular. The architecture is still used in embedded systems with hundreds of millions moved annually.

A lab I worked at in the mid 2000s had several beefy SGI systems I ran. A few full racks of 1U Linux machines later and the SGI stuff was being sold off. Our SGI maintenance every year was something like half a million dollars or something.

We had Netflix and Prime. On reddit someone mentioned The Criterion Channel https://www.criterionchannel.com/ and I signed up. Excellent stuff with plenty of extra goodies from Criterion, a very happy surprise.

We have Netflix, Amazon Prime, and The Criterion Channel. If we like a movie or TV show on any of those services we still download it to the NAS.
Once we have it, we have it. No worries about Netflix or Prime suddenly pulling it or seeing it in Criterion's "Leaving at the end of category. As a bonus we give those services less data to track us by.
