I have a hunch that they figure out who to side with based on how valuable either party is to them. If you're an infrequent buyer screwed by a big-time seller, kiss your money goodbye, and vice versa. If both parties are frequent users, maybe they just take the hit. If both parties are infrequent users, it wouldn't surprise me to hear that they do what you describe above. If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one (oops, wrong shady business on that last one).

Except that FF games are well known for not having "true" sequels (with one exception quite a bit later on in the series). Assuming the other game mentioned will be a true, direct sequel, this is not a valid comparison at all.

Wish I had mod points, but I guess I will post my situation instead to corroborat: I got a BS ME, and am now working for a medical device company that is paying for my MS MatE (emphasis on biomaterials). I do have to take a few extra classes because my undergrad degree is not MatE, but they're easy and actually a good way to ease my way back into the whole school thing (originally graduated in '05).

I've been playing Dead Head Fred. Picked it up at a bargain bin price and have been pretty happy with it. Good story and voice acting, but the load times kill it a bit. Could have been a great game with a few changes, but at least the price is right.
