That was a pretty old model Macbook Pro if that's all it required.
Macbook Pros have had batteries glued into the topcase for many years now.

A glued-shut, non-upgradeable, unrepairable fashion-statement device with a 50% failure rate?
Zero use case.
But Microsoft pays a shitload for product placement in TV shows and movies, so just like Apple people want to look like those famous people.
This is not unusual and has been happening for years on Android. An app might cost a price in the Google Play Store, but might be free from F-Droid or if sideloaded by downloading the APK from the source.
I have no problem with this arrangement. Ultimately everyone needs to pay the bills somehow.
But what about when there is no physical version available?
There's a TV show that I'd pay serious 3-digits for a complete boxed set. That's non-existent, however... but I can "purchase" it (websites' own word) from many different online streaming services.
I wholeheartedly agree. But a problem arises when there is no physical version available.

"Seriously, maybe it's time for a look at the post-Linux world. What a train wreck it's become.
FreeBSD welcomes you. We have cookies, and never had systemd.
Next they'll move game apps to the "Google Gaming" app, which then will just emphasize how stupid the "Play" part of the "Google Play Store" name is and always has been. Why are productivity and serious apps underneath something with "play" in its name?
The 1911 is not an automatic. Only one bullet fires per trigger pull.
Why bother, when you can build a mainframe from the things you find at home?
I don't care if console or PC versions of games have better graphics. The portability of the Switch and the namesake ability to seamlessly "switch" between docked/TV and handheld is killer. I thought I'd play almost exclusively docked and just wanted an HD console (the Wii U never existed). But a hybrid device is that thing you didn't realize you wanted until you have it. And when you dock it and get full power at 1080p on a big screen TV with a game where the devs actually put in the optimization effort... that little Tegra CPU has no business looking that amazing.
At this point, the only games I'll consider buying on PC are the ones not available on Switch at all. If it's available on the Switch, that's the way I'm getting it, graphical compromises be damned.
Even if you don't feel up for running your own mail server in-house, this is reason enough to at LEAST use a custom domain. That way you can switch email providers easily and your email address doesn't need to change.
Doing so has saved my butt more than once.
I can recommend Fastmail. http://www.fastmail.com/ or if you want to say "thanks" you can use this affiliate link: https://ref.fm/u773335
I'm not shilling for them because of affiliate kickbacks... I've been using them myself for more years than I can remember. They've always treated me well and I've been very happy. It's nice actually having "support" when one needs it for email.
Blu-rays have been almost as easy to rip for many years now.
I'm starting a new job in which I'm to be supplied the latest Mac and I wouldn't have a clue what best practises I should use.
A company that insists on using an unrepairable, non-upgradeable throwaway device with built-in obsolescence due to the glued-in battery, which costs +30-50% more for the same raw processing power as the alternatives. And that's just the out-the-door price... that doesn't take into account the higher TCO due to higher repair costs (with proprietary parts costing 5-10 times what standard commodity parts would cost) and numerous fundamental systemic hardware problems such as the issues with the keyboards, the issues with the display cable, etc. Effectively a company that would rather ensure everyone has the luxury fashion-statement status-symbol toys vs. objectively practical business tools.
That would tell me all I needed to know about a company to not even submit an application.
For $10 you could've just gotten a Wii to HDMI adapter.
