Metro on servers is a big turn off but MS will be slow to accept that server admins have different GUI needs. Sure core is catching on some but the GUI users will stick around until forced to use powershell.
In the long run the customer and/or the taxpayer pay.
Run the latest OS on a mac 7 years old? Uh, no.
I had to get rid of my wife's 6 year old iMac a few months ago because it couldn't be upgraded to the latest OS. It would no longer browse websites due to not being able to run newer browsers, Java, etc.
Aereo is more than fair play. They are merely providing a service for what I can already do for myself legally at home. Customers are merely paying Aereo for the equipment and service/convenience. I can't think of a single thing they are doing that isn't already legal for customers themselves or the cable/satellite industry. What it probably comes down to is that the TV industry wants to get paid even though Aereo isn't costing them any money or customers. If anything Aereo is helping keep them in business
1. Aereo provides OTA broadcasts on another medium/"network" for customers with respect to their geographical area. This is the same as cable and satellite.
2. Aereo provides a DVR service which allows customers to records shows so they can watch them at a later time. Because the DVR is in the cloud customers can watch their recordings from almost anywhere with Internet access. Customers can already do this with various cable/satellite services and home devices like Slingbox.
Aereo is not altering the public broadcast nor is it providing it to an unintended audience. At the least the TV broadcasters should be making things easier for Aereo. They really should be major investors.
What will probably happen is the TV broadcasters are going to keep using the courts to slow down or cripple Aereo while they roll out their own craptastic implementations of the same service.
Mistakenly use the wrong account ONE time and you probably won't be able to undo the mess it will cause. I didn't like it when my "smart" phone linked my contacts and social apps and I don't like the idea of G+,FB, etc doing things auto-magically for me either.
This crap is just chasing me away from Gmail and G+.
This.
It is all or nothing.
Exactly. The same kind of people still have AOL accounts... heck I know one or two MSN customers too. These "portals" are the Internet to them. Luckily for Y!/AOL their remaining customers are plentiful and don't know how to block ads.
"Generally, the smarter a person gets, the more republican they tend to lean in ideology even if they insist on remaining democrats or liberals."
I truly hope you are trolling and don't believe what you wrote. I have read some idiotic stuff on
It is more like: "Generally, the older a person gets the more conservative they tend to lean..." The older you get the more you have thus you have more to lose. I tend to think it is more like "Generally, the more intelligent a person gets the more centrist they tend to lean..." Key being intelligence (contextual application of data) vs smart (memorization of data) and realizing that voters are a diverse group with diverse wants, needs, etc etc so there is rarely a single right answer to complex issues.
Having said that, thinking of politicians as "democrat" or "republican" is a trap. If you pay attention you will see they are more alike than they are different. I tend to think of them as two different marketing campaigns for the same organization.
No no no that would never happen. I'm sure the plan would be to redirect it to circle on itself so it gets dizzy and falls down
This may make me sound old but before Google was around the Internet was much much smaller and search engines pretty much SUCKED. Searching was (and sometimes still is) a skill/art. Sure search engines and directories got incrementally better at first and then Google blew them all out of the water.
Feel free to use another search site. Nobody is forcing you to use Google.
You just don't get it. They need to keep the wealthy folks going so they can employ the poor. If we run out of rich employers we will all be out of work.
Only for the shares we purchased. Unfortunately we the taxpayers were never asked about the purchase or the sale.
He represents the company and his job is to protect shareholder value.
Hmm. I think you may have illustrated a point.
He is technically right and morally wrong.
Let the shareholders decide by vote. We the consumers (and the taxpayers) can then decide if we want to continue to buy their products, bail them out, or invest as shareholders. This is a decision that will have very long term effects on GM that will affect them long after the CEO is gone. I know it will affect my future buying decisions.
