I'll second this. That album was really incredible. I have friends who refuse to listen to it simply because it is Shatner, and that disappoints me.

Yeah. I mean, it's not like any of those old mainframes running COBOL applications with two-digit year fields were still in use when the year 2000 came around.
I kid, I kid... I know you were talking about consumer software, but even that's not entirely safe. Bits of code, especially in operating systems, architecture support layers, board support layers, and drivers, have a weird way of sticking around...
At least it doesn't blink, like the power led on Dells in standby mode. What were they thinking?
Oh, that's easy: "How can we rip off Apple's 'heartbeat' sleeping light, but make it more annoying?"

You want proof? Google for "spybot" or for "adaware" and see how many deceiving pieces of malware are advertised in the sponsored links:
"spybot": 3 sidebar, 1 at the top.
"adaware": 3 at the top
"ad-aware": 1 sidebar, 1 at the top
I'm always sure to tell my friends and relatives the actual URL for Spybot S&D or LavaSoft because of these scamming low-lifes. I've reported them a half-dozen times to Google, gotten an automated response, and never seen a change.
So padding it with nothing makes it undetectable? I never thought of that!
Radioactive cats have 18 half-lives.
