Submission + - New Call Of Duty 3 Maps Non-Functioning

jayintune writes: "2old2play is reporting that the new Valor Map Pack for Call of Duty 3 on the Xbox 360 does not work for most of the Xbox Live community. Apparently, when a Live member downloads the new pack (and pays), none of the maps will actually show up in the game. After a laundry list of problem with the COD franchise, gamers in the Xbox forums are ready to give up and prepare for class action."

Submission + - Doctor Who: Series 2 DVD Massacre bug

An anonymous reader writes: The 1st disc of the Doctor Who: Series 2, episode #2 "New Earth" cuts out around minute 32 and shows a graphic bloody stump scene from "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning". I don't think a disc cleaner will solve this problem. These are discs from Netflix. Not sure if this was manufactured into the region 1 consumer box sets as well.

Submission + - Germany Condemns FFVII As "Killer Game"

Imaria writes: "Kotaku writes to inform that Germany has a new "killerspiele" or "killer game" on the block: Final Fantasy VII. It seems two 17 year old murderers, when captured, gave their names as Reno and Sephiroth. A search of their computer discovered an installed copy of FFVII, leading to the game being marked as a danger to society. Clearly, the decade-old game was the root cause of their psychopathic tendencies."

Update, Jan. 16, 2007 Lawyers from our primary ISP decided to pull our plug without any advance notice, as of 14:45 PST. No doubt about our lawsuit brought by the MPAA. We will be back in operation once we sort out this mess with our ISP, or we get new hardware ready from another ISP (already working on that).

Sit back and enjoy the rest of the internet in the mean time. While it last.

Submission + - Will Wheaton's Epiphony

Ada_Rules writes: It has been a few months since we've had a good Will Wheaton story (Wesley Crusher on Star Trek : The Next Generation, but if you did not know that you probably are at the wrong website). I've always been pretty amazed that he appears to have managed to gain a healthy perspective on his time on the show and the way fans treated him. His recent posting on Suicide Girls probably is the the definitive writing on the subject. He has gone from acceptance to nostalgia. I think we all must just be getting old.

It's funny. Laugh.
