Comment New Ticket #118234 My phone is going haywire! (Score 4, Insightful) 195

Sev. 1 - High Priority - All Production Down
Subject: My phone is going haywire!
Description: The authenticator app keeps popping up a message every once in awhile that I need to authenticate even though I'm not doing anything. I keep hitting OK but the message just comes back a few minutes or a few hours later! Can I just uninstall this piece of junk app? This has been going on for months! Also, can you tell me why I keep seeing all of these weird email messages in my Sent Items folder?

I have a bunch of home automation, but I only use parts that will still work without internet access. Will I lose some features of my thermostat? Yes, but it will still function as a thermostat. I just won't be able to check it from my phone. I'll still be able to turn my lights on and off, I just won't be able to use automation scripts. It has to continue to perform its basic function without internet access or it doesn't get installed.

I have an HTC Vive that ruined two pairs of very expensive glasses for me. The headset lenses were so close to my eyeglass lenses that they rubbed scratches in the center before I realized what was happening. So, yes, they *technically* fit over eyeglasses, but you need to be super careful with them. Or you can spend an additional thousand bucks for a corrective insert for the headset. Or, they could just make them fit over eyeglasses properly.

Submission + - Slashdot Alum Samzenpus's Fractured Veil Hits Kickstarter

CmdrTaco writes: Long time Slashdot readers remember Samzenpus, who posted over 17,000 stories here, sadly crushing my record in the process! What you might NOT know is that he was frequently the Dungeon Master for D&D campaigns played by the original Slashdot crew, and for the last few years he has been applying these skills with fellow Slashdot editorial alum Chris DiBona to a Survival game called Fractured Veil. It's set in a post apocalyptic Hawaii with a huge world based on real map data to explore, as well as careful balance between PVP & PVE. I figured a lot of our old friends would love to help them meet their kickstarter goal and then help us build bases and murder monsters! The game is turning into something pretty great and I'm excited to see it in the wild!
