Journal Journal: Checking messages. 6

I just checked my cell phone messages. I got two on saturday from my mates. One from Heineken about this DJ party he threw at a club. 18 lots of fine honeys (I've got to learn to check my messages more). The other was from Oenophile just to say what's up. This is strangely ironic because when I went to see Equilibrium I was in his hood and dropped by his flat. He didn't answer the door.

Saturday:
I went to see Equilibrium as I've said. I had a few hours to kill till my sisters christmas party. I got tired of sitting around the house so I decided to go see a movie. So I hopped on the redline and was about to head off to the ArcLight.

I saw that Equilibrium was playing soonest. I remembered the commercials touting it as the next matrix and though it would be a cheesy knockoff. I'm glad to say is wasn't (well it's more a knockoff of 1984). It's a pretty cool movie in it's own right.

After that I went home. My dad rented a few movies on VHS ("Eraserhead", "The attack of the 5'2" women", and "The cars that eat paris"). We watched Eraserhead which is a weird David Linch movie (redundant I know) then Attack of the 5'2" Women which is a low brow National Lampoon film (ah redundant again).

At around midnight my sister's boyfriend showed up and drove me to the party. We talked about this project we're doing and he told me about another one he landed that might actually pay. It's basically making a scene for an actresses' demo reel. It's great because it gives me a taste of the editing thing before we work on the big project.

When we got there and the party was well underway (hell if the party isn't going at 12 you got problems). My sisters male flatmate didn't recognize me with the beard. He started introducing himself then stopped short. "Wait I know you."

I helped my sisters female flatmate hang a few pictures in her room. It's sort of a tradition that I hit on her. She always tells me I'm too young for her. Well anyway I managed to persuade her to kiss me. In her room of course (she didn't want her friends to know). I'm still not sure how I did that. God I'm smooth when I'm drunk. :)

Then she walked in. The girl I've been half avoiding, half lamenting for a year or so now. I think lamenting is a strong word. but I can't find another one that describes the feeling. It's sort of like a "gee I wonder what she's doing these days", "hmm I wonder if I'll bump into her here" every now and again. I don't long for her to call me, ask around about her or any lame shit like that.

I looked the other way in the hope that she wouldn't recognize me. Almost worked too. She was walking away when I continued my conversation with the guy across from me. My voice gave me away. DAMN!

So we got to talking. She's still using the computer I built for her two years ago. It was her 20th birthday and I had almost all the parts lying in my basement. We gave each other the quick update of our lives over the past year. Then I went back to where I was sitting. The real tragic thing is that she would make a great friend if I didn't hate her. Oh well my loss I suppose.

At about this point I finished my 6-7th beer and switched to wine then I did a tequila shot (salt no lime had to settle for a lemon).

Sunday:
Hangovers... It was really bad in the morning but worked itself out during the day. By the end of the day I was about 90%.

My dad and I began to watch "The cars that eat paris", but it sucked. In stead we watched my copy of "Reservoir Dogs". I'm not sure if any of you caught this before but the opening scene at the dinner is were they stole the cafe scene for swordfish.

Monday:
They say the measure of a good job is that it challenges you to find out new things about yourself. Well today I learned that I actually can fit through a 8.5" x 17.5" hole. We needed to get under this house and that was the only opening we could find. Since my dad though there was no way anybody could get through there.

Now:
My mom keeps getting on my case about what I'm going to do with my life. Well this is my basic principal for a perfect life.

What is stopping you from going to Cancun (or wherever) tomorrow? Every reason is you have is a reason why you are not truly free. My plan is to have as few of those as possible till I settle down and start a family (I'd say thats about the only reason thats worth it).

Till I'm about ~30 I'd love to:
  • work 6 month a year.
  • Live in a crappy one bedroom apartment (if possible have another one in a different country. Canada perhaps )
  • Earn 20-40K.
  • Travel to places that are cool but, aren't trendy. Like Bulgaria, Syria, and China (okay perhaps not China).
  • Live a life with as few attachments as possible.

Once I'm ~30 I'll begin my actual career. Settle down and start a family. It would be the perfect life. If only I had the balls to do it.

I saw Equilibrium. When I first saw the trailer that compared it to the matrix. I though it would be a knockoff. I can tell you it's not, but I see what they meant.

So if you want some quick paced, dual desert eagle, post apocalyptic action look no further. God I sound like a quote whore. Anyhow this is one I'm picking up on DVD.

It's cool, but the online trailer gives away to much. If you want go see it. Trust in red5 the less you know the better.

I was watching the tube the other day and one of those Bally's commercials came on. You know the ones. Advertising "Bally total fitness" . I went through the regular mental motions. "Gee I should exercise more." "I'm okay now but if I let my self go I'll look just like my parents." "Hey if I had a body like that I'd get lade like every day." Then when I reached for the remote to end this guilt/shame feast, I noticed something. My arm was sore. Wait, not just my arm but all those little muscles up my side as well.

Then I glanced over at my dad. Other than the gut he's built like an ox. Now that I think about it when was the last time you saw an ox with a flat stomach? You see for once I have a job that doesn't require "working out" all I have to do is work.

I figure if I decide to go into this for good (or evil). All I have to do is run on weekends to maintain a "bod".

Journal Journal: Kylie's birthday. 2

What can happen in three days?

Tuesday:
I went over to the shop and talked to the guys about my car. They wanted around 5.5K for the work. That's a little steep but he was talking about taking the whole thing apart. I don't have that sort of money just now. I'm sitting on 3.5-4. We told them we'd think about it.

We drove to this other shop to see the guy there. The guy was a goat man. He just restored his 67. He also showed me a picture of a 66 they restored last year. He said to bring it by and he could give me a quote. The guy was Petty nice and the better business bureau plaque on the wall (and the fact that we're both white) told me that he didn't see me as some rich white kid he could squeeze a few grand out of.

I agreed to spend the day helping my dad out. First we went to this large house and he put in a few sconces. Then we went to this bar there building in chinatown. My job there was to basically stay out of the way and do what ever my dad needed. I also signed for a package and chased down the owners dog when it snuck out an open door. Nothing of great importance, but I got to catch up on father son time.

While we were in chinatown we got some milk-tea with tapiocas. It's sort of new (to me any way). In chinatown there are these juice bars. They make you a drink and then seal it with this cool stamp machine. Try it out some time it's really good.

Wednesday:
We went by the shop and got the car towed to the second shop. The guy there quoted me 2K for painting it and taking care of the rust. Yeah me! He Told me he'd start on it right away and be done in about two weeks. I'll finally have a car. I can't wait. He needed a deposit. He preferred cash so he could order part sooner rather than wait for it to clear.

My dad had to go to chinatown as he had an inspection scheduled. I went with him as I needed a ride to the bank. After the inspection. I withdrew the money and drooped it off at the shop (and got a receipt of course).

Thursday:
Our family is actually celebrating thanksgiving2 on sunday, but it was my dogs birthday today. She's six now. On November 28 1996 (which was also a thanksgiving). The guy my sister was seeing found a puppy on a dirt road by his house. She had just been born (still had the umbilical cord). My sister fed her from a bottle and against all odds she survived.

My dad has a lot of work till about the end of the year. So he needs a helper. It's not the most cerebral work. but what the hell. I am now officially a construction worker. It's not the greatest paying job on earth, but I get this nifty looking blue collar.

Journal Journal: red5 updates: Comdex, Vegas, Boy and his goat part 2. 6

The trip to comdex was pretty good. On the way there I got them to pretty much play all my music. They particularly liked Oakenfold, Freestylers and Timo Mass. (I could not find Way Out West but I'm sure he would have liked that a lot.) We made pretty good time and got there in under thee hours. The drive back took about four to five hours. They played there music. His girlfriend opened it up with cheese Hip-Pop and then he played Disco. I found solace in my iPOD.

The show for the most part was lame. The high points were:
  • I got two free demo copies of .NET server.(I'm going to make them fight :) )
  • I road on a segway. I had to wait an hour in line, but it was worth it. (Those things are cool.)

I really don't like Vegas. It's like a cheep fake copy of a bunch of nice places to visit. I find it ironic how the buffet is the big draw as it's the perfect metaphor for Vegas as a restaurant.

I loathe buffets. They're for overweight people who eat too much and don't know what good food tastes like. I can stand them every now and again, but all we ate while we were there was buffets.

Well I can't complain too much my friend paid for it all not me. :-) I went to Vegas for three days and two nights, and only spent about 20 bucks. I even got to see one of the worst movies of all-time (Half past dead).

I called up the bodyshop my mechanic referred to me and got my car towed there. I couldn't drive it because the left-rear tire is flat the wind shield is cracked and the temp registration is expired.

I got there and everyone had a look at it. I talked to the guy about colour and other things. I'm getting rid of the lame after-market sunroof and I don't want a vinyl top. I'm going red but I haven't picked a shade just yet.

I told them I'd be there tomorrow with my dad to sort out the details and with that I walked home. The place is 15 minutes from my home on foot. Which is well within what I call walking distance.

Comdex

Journal Journal: red5 in da hizouce 3

I'm headed off to comdex for the first ( and likely the last ) time. Well technically I'm not headed there just yet. I'm packing my bags. I will be going there tomorrow and staying till Friday.

The only problem I see so far is the guy I'm driving there with. Well, not so much him as his taste in music. If this were 1996 he'd have some really cool music, but that EuroDance has gotten a tad stale. In an attempt to nudge him onto better music I've packed a few CDs.
  • Morcheeba - Big Calm
  • Groove Armada - Goodbye Country (hello nightclub)
  • Freestylers - Pressure Point
  • Morcheeba - Fragments of freedom
  • The Cardigans - Grand Turismo
  • Royksopp - Melody A.M.
  • DJ Qbert - Wave Twisters
  • Oakenfold - Bunkka
  • telepopmusik - Genetic World
  • Way Out West - Intensify
  • Timo Maas - Loud
  • Propellerheads - DECKSANDDRUMSANDROCKANDROLL

I'll be sure to charge my iPOD all night in case I can't preswade him to play those. Well I still have a lot of packing to do and I have to be up at 7am.

Bye for now.

Journal Journal: Who needs sleep anyway? 7

After I quit work, I started staying up later (5 - 6 AM) and sleeping in (2 - 4 PM). Around the time daylight savings kicked in I was pretty much nocturnal. I realised that I would have to do something drastic if I ever wanted to see daylight again. The plan was to try and stay up a as long as I could, and crash at a respectable time the following day.

It worked out alright. Saturday night I didn't sleep at all. Instead I stayed up all night playing UT. Sunday morning I made myself a bowl of oatmeal then I took my dog to see the sunrise. It occurred to me that was the most light I'd seen in a week or so.

I got back to the house and played Here Comes The Sun by the Beatles. Yeah, that was a bit corny I guess. Sue me. That reminded me that one of the old people stations has "Breakfast with the Beatles" on sunday mornings. My dad used to cook breakfast and play it every sunday.

When my mom got up I told her we should do something like that. The only thing we need was more milk. I took the dog for a run to the store to pick that up, and my mom cooked up a batch of waffles.

After that my sister came by and we got chai lattes with the dog. Thats three walks in one day. The dog did pretty good I'd say. Then me and my dad went to a couple of record stores and circuit city. I bought an old Bowie album ( I can't remember the title of hand but it had "Heroes" on it.), DJ Tiësto - In My Memory 12", Paul Oakenfold - Bunkka, and a long life battery for my MiniDV camera.

I finally crashed around 9:30 PM and woke up around 8 AM. It seemed like the plan worked great till Monday night when I couldn't sleep at all. WTF? Did my body adjust to a longer sleep cycle? At around 7:30 I finally gave up trying to sleep, had a coffee and faced my day.

It was a pretty productive day. I got through a few chapters in my FCP book. Then in the middle of that day around 4 PM I was lying down on the couch and watching TV when I just dosed off for three hours. I woke up around 7:30 to the news.

How am I going to get any sleep tonight? I can't really think of any way short of me drinking all the beer in the fridge, and I don't really feel like doing that right now.

Ah, screw it. Who needs sleep anyway?

Am I the only one who thinks LOTR: FOTR was crap?

Seriously what did it have other than a big franchise and an even bigger budget? Why did it win an academy award? It didn't innovate at all. The CG was a little better than the previous big CG movie and thats it.

Why didn't a movie that used cinematography and visual effects in new exciting ways (Amelie) win the award.

Is it just me? Am I crazy?

Journal Journal: Roasting marshmallows on a burning bridge 4

I'll try to make this last post about my former employer.

I receved a call from somebody at work today asking me to take down my latest JE "One week to live" because the bosses at work "found" it and people were getting in trouble. I did this as a favor to him and not because I was afraid of the consequences as there are none. Yes I'll probably never work from any of them ever again. Of course thats why I quit on friday. I don't want to. The only consequence I was worried about was getting my friends in trouble and well that already happened by the time I took it down, so what's the point?

It's back up in it's full glory if you want to see what caused all this trouble.
Censorship

Journal Journal: Discovered! 7

My cover has been blown. My journal was discovered. Causing heaps of trouble for the people at work.

Quick note to my former boss if you're still reading.

This thing has the readership of like 25, Nobody in "the industry" is watching and even if they were they'd have no way to figure out who I work for ( well now that 'bigtraz' commented in my journal it's trivial ). I never mention anyone or anyplace by name. Look at the robots.txt for slashdot The searchengins will never archive this page. What are you uptight about?

As for Heineken wanting to quit also I don't know perhaps he was just saying it to make me feel better. Who cares? This is just my place to vent. It's what keeps me the happy go lucky kid we all knew.

Journal Journal: One week to live... 27

A lot happened to me last week but the weekend is the best part so I put it up front. :)

Friday:
The day started out with a "Company Meeting" where the boss chewed us out for being late too much (and by "us" I mean those of us who don't live in Glendale ). { Well gee. What do you want, people who leave when the jobs done, or people who come in on time and leave on time?} ("{" denote things I had to bite my tongue to avoid saying ) "For the past six months the business has been stagnating, and I think that if we all start coming in on time we'll get through this tough spot." {Hmm last six months eh. Wasn't that when you started coming in like once a week? What the f**k do you expect is going to happen to a company with no management? }

He then unveiled a new system to get us here on time. Anybody who is late gets docked $25. That money is then put into a pool and the people who are on time every day { like his cousins who live down the block from the office } will split the money. { this is illegal on so many levels I don't know were to begin.} He then ended his speech with something like: "If you're not in the company for the long haul, If you're just using it as a place to kill time till you find what you want to do with your life. Leave." { Oh yeah it's been my dream since birth to one day work at a two bit p0rn company. I've finally lived up to my potential and at such a young age. Oh how blessed I am. } (This is the way he ends all his company meetings. "If you disagree with me you're fired." )

Once the meeting was over. I was like fuck this place and I started to quietly pack the contents of my desk into my laptop bag.

I went to lunch at around 12:30 with Lisa, Oenophile, JWSmythe, and the woman who runs our bandwidth provider. I chose this nice little Italian place on Glenoakes. I wanted to have a good last lunch. Everyone had a few drinks and we spent like 2 1/2 hours on lunch.

After that I took care of my emails and left at around 4:00PM. I didn't tell anyone where I was going or why. I didn't want to make a big scene. I'm not one for goodbyes. I figure that goodbyes are for people that your not going to see again and wish you were. None of the people at work fall into that group as I'm either going to still hang out with them or I don't care.

It was however a pretty emotional experience as I've been working there for almost a year and a half now. Thats a year and a half of my youth I'm never going to get back. :( I walked home to get it all out. I didn't want to dump that crap on my mom.

Abood called me that night and I saw knockaround guys with him and his SO. They almost flipped when I told them about quitting. The movie was good. The acting was so-so but at least the ending didn't suck.

After the movie Abood and I had a beer at his place. He offered to pay me for the work I did on his site. I told him to forget about it but he insisted. "Throw me a number." He said. "Umm okay how about as grand?" I replied. "Okay" he said as he handed me $200 "I'll get you the rest by the end of the month" We talked a little more and he said he could give me some part time work. Like a day or two a week and a grand a month.

I called up Oenophile and went to his place. We drank a little vodka and grape juice. I didn't finish mine. (I've been a little squeamish since the wedding) He got pretty drunk though. We talked about work. He told me he wished he could quit like me but he needs the money. He was too drunk to drive me home so I just crashed at his place.

Saturday:
When I finally got up the next day we went down to venice beach, had a few beer and watch some street performers. Then we met up with Heineken and his SO. We all had coffee at the Coffee Bean by my house.

Heineken threw a little get together at his place that night we invited Lisa. She never shows up to these things, but if we don't call her she gets all offended when we talk about it later. (women go figure). He told me that he feels the same way as Oenophile. If he could quit he would but he has bills (apartment plus two leased cars and a girlfriend). We both know the boss from before this job and we're both in awe about how much the power has changed him.

Sunday:
My brother took the day off and we saw formula 51. This movie was good. just the right mixture of comedy and action. I highly recommend it. We had dinner with the whole family to celebrate his birthday.

My new life thus far:
Monday:
I woke up a free man at around (1:30PM) I didn't really do much of anything I just had a day of R&R. I took Kylie for a walk thats about it. :)

When My dad came home I helped him fix the brakes on his truck. His right-front router was shot. While we were out getting the parts I saw one of those claw games (grab a toy with the claw and win it). A strange feeling came over me. I put in my $.50 and lined up the claw on a box of some sort. I hit the button with no hesitation. To my surprise and amazement the claw took hold. I won! I saw a little girl (about 4-5) watching me and I was going to give the prize to her till I saw what it was. An Ozzy Osbourne coin bank. Hell yeah I'm keeping that. :)

Tuesday:
Pretty much the same as Monday. :) Me and Kylie went to get a chai latte and I filled out the form for my car.

The guy who sold it to me forgot to sign off as registered owner (just legal owner). Now I have to mail (not fax) him a bill of sale form. So he can sign that. My dad ran by a mustang with a really nice paint job today and got the name of the body shop the guy used. Looks like I found my body shop.

My projects are:
  1. Fix and register my car.
  2. Get my greencard.
  3. Learn FCP and DVDSP
  4. Edit my brothers wedding and make a dvd out of it.
  5. Edit a DV project for my sisters boyfriend and SS John.
  6. Make those two cool short movies I've been planning to film for the last six months.

I'm good for money right now. I have about 4.5K in the bank and Abood called me today about having some more money for me. The money should be enough to get my car fixed and keep me in chai lattes for the next few months.

My last week at the office for posterity. (feel free to skip this part)

Monday:
JWSmythe and I spent the day finishing three 1Us plus one more that arrived in the mail. By the time we were done it was too late (11PM) to install them at IDC #2, but we did still have to drive down to IDC #1 and reboot a server that was having problems. turns out whoever built that one used a desktop CPU fan so there was not clearance between the CPU and case. We rebooted it, popped the case off, and left. I got home around 12:45. I was supposed to work on some last minute bugfixes for my friend Aboodes' site but when I got home I just crashed.

Tuesday:
On the way to work I got a call from Lax. Apparently when "we" ( and by we I mean the other guy) rebooted that server at IDC #1 last night. "We" accidentally unplugged one of his servers. We called the guys at the IDC and had them plug it in for us. After that we made a run to fry's for a new CPU fan and installed the servers at IDC #2. when we got everything plugged in the f***ing drop wasn't working. It took the guy an hour to get us a link. Only to discover after that Level 3 forgot to turn on our uplink. We stuck the new boxes in but left the others were they were. We were getting near 100Mbs on that line and need to move some servers over before we redline. I got home late again around 8 or 9.

Wednesday:
Oenophile offered to drive me to work, but I declined as they were tearing up my street that day. They had a bunch of heavy trucks ripping all the blacktop off of my street. Got in really late like 1-1:30. I went down stairs to change and made the mistaker of lying down of a minute on my bed next thing I know it's 12:30. Oops. When I finally got in JWSmythe and I went to IDC #2 to finish the job on that new rack (now that the line was working). Then we swung by IDC #1 to pick up that server as it was dead yet again. I got home around 7:45. I called up Abood and finished those last minute fixes.

Thursday:
Abood came by the office to show the site I built for him to the boss. Apparently he got the boss to invest some capital into it. Good for him. He told me about a few minor issues he was still having with the site and I told him I'd get to them when I got home form my movie or if possible before I left for it. I had lunch with Lisa and Oenophile at Foxy's.

I got home around 6:30 and fixed those issues. I didn't have time to give them a full test before going to the movie but I gave them the quick once over and of to the races. I wanted to see "The Secretary" but it wasn't playing at the Arclight anymore. I opted to see "Swept away" as it was the closest one on my "must see" list. I still had about an hour to kill and the restaurant was closed for the BMW films premiere party hosted by Vanity Fair.

I went to Amoeba and bought DJ Shadow - Private Press (Great album BTW I highly recommend it), Ramones - Eaten Alive, and BT - Ten Years in The Life. Swept Away was a lot better than I though it would be. It's quite good in fact. The ending ruled.

If you actually read through this much of my shit god bless you. :)

Christmas Cheer

Journal Journal: The Transporter and Canadian Thanksgiving 3

As I said earlier I really wanted to see the transporter. I called my sister earlier this week and sorta made plans to go see it Friday night.

Friday while I was out of the office she left a message for me. Her flatmate was having a birthday dinner that night and I was invited. I have no problem with this I guess I can see the movie after dinner or the next day.

The dinner was at this nice Thai restaurant off of Sunset right by Amoeba. Stupid side note: Last year on Valentine's day the roomate didn't have a valentine. So we went on a "date" at this restaurant. I bought her flowers and every thing it was funny as hell (and before you ask no I didn't get any).

Many fun people were there. Very few of them people I know. There was this one girl who said "Hi" to me when I showed up like she knew me. I later found out that I met her at my sisters party. I think I did a good job of playing off the fact that I had no idea who she was. I must have met her while I was drunk. ( Why do all me stories involve the phrase "And I was so drunk" it's like the old testament and the phrase "and then god became angry").

After than we headed off to that karaoke bar on Sunset and Gower. I watched this one girl totally butcher foolish games by Jewel. I hope for her sake she was drunk. That's not something I'd want to remember. Nobody in our party felt like singing after that

I got home around 12:30 (really early for me). So I called up my friend oenophile to see if he wanted to go somewhere (he called me before I went to dinner and I said I call him if I got out early).
He didn't answer and neither did Heineken so I had a beer (okay a few beer) and watched some TV.

We all had to go into work on Saturday because we were very late this week. My job's for the moment were to re-install this Compaq and build three 1Us. I installed it and for the life of me I couldn't make it boot. I'd just get "LI" at the LILO screen. I recompiled the kernel 4 times. Then I finally remembered to turn on the Linear flag in the lilo.conf.

By this time it was almost 6 and I didn't have all the parts for the 1Us anyhow (I needed 1U cpu fans, and more IDE cables). So fuck it.

I called my sister and asked her if she wanted to see transporter. She was down but she wanted to buy a present for her roommate first. I did too so we went shopping together and then saw the movie.

So get to the point already was it good? Well let me put it this way:
If you go to the movie and leave 15 minutes before the end you will see most of a really cool movie. Stay to the end and you will see one of the worst endings in movie history. The ending was 18 different kinds of lame. God that ending sucked.

Tonight we had Canadian thanksgiving dinner (It's officially held tomorrow but Sunday is more convenient.) So happy thanksgiving to freq, afxgrin, eugene ts wong, http, and all the Canadian /.ers I forgot to mention. :)

It was quite a feat getting a fresh turkey this time of year but we managed. First my mom got one from Albertson's and it turned out to be bad. She brought it back and they only had one more to give her which when they checked it, turned out to also be bad. :(

My sister had to go to wholefoods in glendale to get a fresh turkey. This old guy walked up to her at the check out line, poked it, and shot her a confused look. "You're looking at me funny? You're the one who just walked up and poked my turnkey."

Anyway the dinner tuned out great. My dad made three wonderful desserts. Creme brule, Cheese Cake and I'm not sure what the last one is called but damn is it good. :)

Oh and lastly probably the best joke of the night:
George W Bush is talking to the king of Saudi Arabia.
King: "On the show Startrek they have people from all over the earth. they have Africans, Japanese, and even Russian. Why don't they have any Arabs?"
George W: "Ah, thats because it takes place in the future."
Movies

Journal Journal: Movies out this weekend. 16

Fuck me there's a lot of movies coming out this week. :)

Since I have nothing better to do I'm going to post my critique on all of them based off of their online trailer.

Bowling for Columbine:
This movie looks funny no doubt about that. It also looks like a whiny leftwing anti second amendment preachfest. I'm waiting for the video.

White Oleander:
Oprah book club garbage turned mainstream hollywood garbage. Total chick flick. Those with with Y chromosome need not apply.

Brown Sugar:
This movie looks good. I like the original premise. Two great friends for life that happen to be of the opposite sex. They have that spark but never got around to heating things up. Does he marry this new girl or does his friend stand up and confess her true feelings. I want to know. I'd probably be the only white guy in the theater though so I'll wait for the video.

Tuck Everlasting:
What's this movie about? I don't give a shit. I just love how all the television spots have been promoting it as "the next great Disney classic." and not really saying anything about the movie itself. Does the world really need another "Classic" Disney movie. I'm not even renting this movie.

Knockaround Guys:
This movie looks way too cool. The sons of some big wise guys want to prove themselves to their fathers. They get a simple job: transport the money from location A to B. Of course they lose the money and things get crazy from there. Vin Diesel is in it. I'm a big Vin Diesel fan. There are a lot of other good actors in this movie as well, like John Malkovich and Dennis Hopper.

I've been waiting for this movie to come out forever. It kept getting pushed back. Hell they even pushed it back to make room for "I Am Sam". Did anybody actually see that lame ass movie? I am so seeing it this weekend if not friday.

Pokémon the 4th Movie:
Do you mean there have been 3 Pokémon movies already. when will the insanity end?

The Rules of Attraction:
This move looks like it could be good. I just hope that vander geek can pull it off. If he does it just might be the next Go.

Swept Away:
I'm a huge Guy Ritchie fan so I'm going to see it even though it doesn't look like my kind of movie. Not to say that it looks bad. It looks good but it seems like a lighthearted romantic comedy. Which is not exactly my style.

Punch-Drunk Love:
This movie looks like Adam Sandler's last ditch effort to gain acceptance as a serious actor, and not just a wacky "Jerry Louse" type. This could be great, or it could be carp. It'll be fun to see if he has what it takes though. I'll probably see it in theaters but I'm in no hurry to do so.

Below:
Ooh a hunted WW2 Sub. I'm getting scared ... hold me. *Eye roll*. I'll wait for it to be on TV or something.

The Transporter:
Last and totally not least. The Transporter. Nobody does action like Luc Besson (Subway, La Femme Nikita, Leon the professional, Kiss of the Dragon). When he's in his element nobody can touch him, but when he strays (The Messenger) well lets not talk about that. The point it that Luc Besson is in his element this time I just hope the director (Corey Yuen) didn't fuck it up

This movie was supposed to come out last month but it was delayed because they wanted to market it some more. I was so pissed when I heard that. I'm seeing it fridaynight come hell or highwater. :)

Journal Journal: How the hell did I get here? 5

I woke up this morning in an unfamiliar bed. How the hell did I get here? Where is here exactly? What time is it?

Last night I went to thug #1's wedding. I got way too drunk on John Walker red. So much so that my friends though it necessary to check me into a motel.

Anyhow Thanks and Sorry to all the people involved. That is all for now.
