Comment See all my favorite bands! (Score 1) 658
I'd do the last 100 years and go see all my favorite bands play shows at their peaks..
Outside of that I'd pretty much stick to the future.

"X-plane is a cross-platform flight simulator app, notably the only serious one that supports Mac OSX and Linux."
And here I've been using http://flightgear.org/ all this time. I thought I was using a serious, free, GPL open-source flight simulator that runs on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.. I'm glad this slashdot post came up to tell me I was wrong.
Dude charges for X-plane.. When you decide to charge for software you accept all the financial responsibility for defending it against litigation. Welcome to it.
My keyboard came with my 386DX40 machine back in 1992.
It still works just fine. I even tend to prefer playing most FPS games with heavy keyboard controls and still haven't worn out a single key.
It looks terribly disgusting. I'm convinced if I cleaned it the thing would die..
Your install has issues..
Every Linux machine I own can decode ALAC just fine..
It's an open format.
I think that noise is something in the hall resonating or something. It might be worth downloading the tracks for that composition and see if it's most dominant in one mic and attenuating that track a bit to reduce the effect.
The score sounds great to me, but I agree that noise is bothersome.
The beauty of this project is that not only are the final mixes released and available for free, but so are the original master tracks. You have the option of using the Musopen supplied mixes, or you can completely remix and remaster the composition as you see fit. In fact, I might just load that one into Ardour and give it a shot.
The fully OSS community hasn't yet put out a really great DAW
I've been hard pressed to find anything I can't do with it.
It's GPL so if there is something you can't live without, write it and contribute!
insure domestic tranquility
This means to prevent wars between the states.
promote the general Welfare
This means to promote the welfare of the Union by maintaining the governmental infrastructure required by the constitution.
This does not mean relieving individuals of the responsibility for their own lives as to do so would make the following an impossible goal.
secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity
This can not be achieved under a government that wields total authority over your every action, including how you provide for yourself and family. The more power you place in the hands of a ruling authority, the less liberty you will have. Today we have only an illusion of liberty, revocable at the whim of the government at any time. It's being usurped a little more virtually every day.
Because roughly 80% or more of taxes should fund the military, which the space program would fall under. The rest should fund the basic infrastructure for the government to fulfill it's constitutional functions. (Operate the court system, post roads, maintain the buildings needed to house the main branches of government, etc)
Note this does not include the vast majority of what the government currently does, which falls well outside the limits of the constitution.
without a commitment to support Linux at release. I don't run Windows, and hoping to use wine as a kludge isn't something I'm willing to pay for.
I understand the significance to the digital media market. I do not see any significant contribution to the writing, performance, or recording of music.
Which further proves that the grammy awards are useless and meaningless.
Of course, any awards group that would award "Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance" to the Foo Fighters over friggin Dream Theater is already a laughable joke..
This was a Grammy Trustees Award, not a Grammy Award. The Trustees Award goes out to individuals who, during their careers in music, have made significant contributions, other than performance, to the field of recording.
What career in music?
What contributions to the field of recording did he make?
He made a huge contribution to commercial distribution of digital files.. That's it.. Not Grammy worthy.
Did I miss the Steve Jobs Christmas album or something?
He didn't have anything to do with making music. He helped create the first wildly successful internet based digital media sales/distribution system.. But replace the music files with porn movies and the premise is the same.. He was selling access to files in a repository.. It had nothing to do with making music.
This is just another group trying to rape his image for publicity.
Money is the root of all evil, and man needs roots.
