Being a big fan of the original, I'm trying/hoping/wanting to like the live action version, because, well, why not, right? Something good is simply something good, and I want more good stuff to enjoy.

I actually left iPhones for Android after having been a faithful customer for over six years simply because they replaced google with Bing in Siri and made it impossible to get Google maps, over Apple maps, via Siri.

This is just sort of an evolution for those of us who have been long working in front of a computer all day. For us, it probably really started with the web. One or two really cool things (whatever it was that you though was cool), and you were suddenly checking and re-checking a long list of websites. And out of control link sharing was well underway long before Facebook hit the scene, they just centralized it and added efficiencies.
Honestly, for a really old person like me, who has that addictive instinct, it started with the BBS system.

5G strikes me as still being a little rough around the edges, particularly in the power consumption department. It'd probably be worth waiting before building it into any kind of all-in-one, long-term product. 4G should still have years in it, and while 5G will be around longer, none of it is going to be forever anyways.

Yeah, agreed. They ruined FF mobile for Android, but their response to criticism was basically " we worked really hard on it and _we_ like it, so just keep trying it until you like it."
It's never grown on me and I'm using Chrome for more and more things every week. Nothing kills a product faster than a bad UI, and believing something is good because "you worked really hard on it" stops being valid after grade school.
Them rich folks may get to go to space and all, but at least we still have semantics.
Steam is, well, steam-rolling the industry of online game delivery. Humble Bundle needs to offer equivalent or near-equivant features to stay competative, and that takes money.

Not that it's not a problem, but the numbers are actually lower than I would have expected.
Arguably since Vista, Microsoft has basically had to force a large portion of their user base to upgrade. For many of us, announcements of major changes to Windows bring trepidation rather than excitement, and as far as OS upgrades, the events that seem to matter the most are when they are going to pull support on existing versions.
Make sure your code does nothing gracefully.
