it's existence is only political to people who's politics is denial of objective reality.

No, that is backward. They don't make it political because they deny reality. They deny reality because it's political.

And it's political on both sides. The best-known spokesperson for addressing climate change is not a scientist but a partisan politician: Al Gore.

The second best known is Greta Thunberg, who intermixes support for Hamas with climate change advocacy.

Gee, is it because any scientist who even dares say something about the dangers of climate change is accused of being "political", and that's just the least that criminal propagandist will claim about them.

How much is a 30% fee on a free app? Zero? Oh you mean, they have to pay 30% on a subscription they don't have to (and explicitly don't even want to) offer. IOW Spotify's problem is that they believe their users are too stupid to buy their subscription on their website. What they want, and what Apple has been fined for by the EU, is to tell users to go to their website to subscribe. Which Apple has allowed since before the fine BTW - if you offer an in-App subscription.

Of course Spotify's (and other's) real fear is that Apple's in-App subscriptions are just too convenient for the user, especially for cancelling. That was Netflix's stated reason to no longer offer new subscriptions on iOS - too many users were cancelling.

How nice of you to think of Netflix's 30% - when according to them that was never their problem. They stopped offering new subscriptions on iOS because too many users there canceled their subscription. They canceled the remaining subscriptions on iOS because they were stuck on old conditions, and they couldn't just change those conditions because Apple protects its customers.
