I cannot get to 100 day no matter what source I look at. I am not denying there is a problem in regards to homicides by any means, but even the CDC only shows 32,000 deaths by firearms which is lower than those by auto or even poisoning.
they just stopped worry about protecting workers. The real power of unions is all in government employee unions who hold an undue amount of influence over those who set their pay. Even FDR knew the pitfalls of that.
What is going to end unions is the unrepentant greed amongst the public employee unions who expect taxpayers to shut up and put up. Well a few states are well on their way that a few cities have gone, bankrupting or using financial crisis to void ridiculous promises and payouts.
Some of the worse retirement payouts and age at which they can retire is just silly to the point of sickening.
I have noticed a deafening silence from them for four years and fully expect it to continue. I want a four years and your out rule.
We enjoy a higher standard of living because of global wage differences. Many countries do this. Let alone, having worked with individuals from said country, many found it easier to live on their home wages at home that supposedly equivalent wages here. Most of that came from expectations, I guess.
So your going to have to alter their society to increase their costs, one way to do that would be to keep pushing their wages up but that would introduce social instability as inflation would follow the new buying power of all those earners.
Then you would need to work on the country providing them..... well eventually as you raise one country up another comes up to take its place and the guy at the top hopefully kicks themselves up another notch starting the whole.
Its practiced all the time by governments as a whole. California recently did it and the voters fell for it. Pass these tax increases or schools get cut.
As in, the people will always fall in line when you threaten their children or their safety. It is a tried and true method of getting people to accept fee and tax increases.
it was wholly a perfect representation of a totalitarian regime.
A western corporation, any corporation, is held in check by the governments it operates under, which can rarely be said about most government controlled groups. Yeah I am quite certain people can dredge up problems that corporations have caused but there was someone you could go to about it to prevent it from happening again.
When the watcher is the offender your pretty much betting against time something bad will happen.
I do not trust EBAY as far as I can throw Paypal.
I cannot imagine buying anything over impulse purchase prices on ebay.
that if the budget cut is extreme that somehow the money just vanishes? That is not how it works. The problem is that the US Government combined with the states and various local governments, are taking too much money out of the economy as it is. Worse, they are wasting a good amount of it.
Plus, take away the standard scare tactic. Politicians abuse the poor all the time with such tactics as "they will take your food stamps". Why do you think so many were giddy over the ACA? Because they have a new fear tactic. After all, tell me what a politician threatens to cut first?
a) Education
b) Police
c) Fire
d) Research into fruit flies
e) A new library named after their mother.
f) a bridge to nowhere?
with some sort of ground effort? Or at least attempt to disrupt the RADAR or missile sites. The other alternative is to get more explosives into Israeli controlled areas to employ as IED and such, though much of that society is trained to spot things that should not be. Will a rash of homicide bombers be unleashed?
Eventually they energy weapons might replace the missiles and provide even better coverage, but it might lead to an escalation that is harder to contain, by which I mean the other guys might employ chemical or biological weapons which cannot be intercepted.
why call it a life sentence if you can be paroled?
I cannot see why anyone would want to be a pilot for a living unless you just want to fly.
I was shocked when I learned that he gets no pay while sitting on the ground, the stewardesses/stewards/flight assistants (whatever), were getting like a buck fifty an hour until the doors closed.
and all this even after years of working his way up through the commuter lines to being a captain where his pay is still less than what most programmers make.
Just because the quests are there does not mean they are required. Then again this is like any other feature of an addictive MMO, players feel cheated if they don't.
Far too many people are convinced they would be part of the elite if they only just... and then did
So yeah there are a bazillion quests, but guess what. Given Blizzard's track record your going to have two years before the next expansion and honestly, do you need every grade of shiny purple items, items that usually are reduced in value with each point release let alone expansion?
