So, on a local news outlet - on a page specifically related to sexual assault, the top three most recent news stores span approximately twenty one weeks and there is no mention of MS13, sanctuary city criminal illegal aliens etc... The three stories deal with US residents, a Virginia resident, members of athletic teams at a local high school in Maryland, and another man from North Bethesda, MD.

Not an auspicious start to back up your claims...

The top four Google results for "Sexual Assault Montgomery County MD" don't come even remotely close to providing any information to back up your statements. Other than two incidents in late August the most recent other incidents are from five months ago. The suspects are all either US residents or white males or high schools students. There is no mention of issues with the sanctuary city rules, MS13 gang affiliation, or anything else you have asserted.

I'm not sure what warranted the passive aggressive attack on my knowledge of news for a single county in a single state that is 700 miles from where I live. I was asking for information so I could learn more.

Your argument isn't with California, it's with the automakers who refuse to make decent cars for California and pieces of crap for the 49 other states. California has every right (until Trump-hole removes it) to mandate emission standards for their state.

IndyCar (with a Y) races 100% ethanol. Their fuel comes from renewable resources. It burns cleaner than gasoline, also. The EPA isn't going to 'come for them', as the carbon footprint of 33 ethanol burning cars that run for a few hours a week for 17 weeks out of the year (not counting off season testing) is extremely insignificant. A single Amazon delivery van in the same time frame has a far far (far) greater CO impact than all of the IndyCar Series cars combined.

perl is alive an well. i have perl scripts written some 20 years ago that just work. i can not say this about python where you need to updated and update and update 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 3.0 and ... so this means it needs less people to maintain the perl scripts then the python scripts. hopefully with python3 python is mature enough to not break compatibility with existing software all that often. still i think going with perl is a good and save choice.

All of your hackneyed examples are at a meta level - more akin to picking an OS of choice. A window manager / desktop is a much more granular choice. It's more inline,"Imagine if the English language had no rule on reading order (left to right, top to bottom) - Every time you picked up a book you wouldn't know how to open it". Innovating on the reading order is irrelevant and stupid, as its only purpose is to allow you easy access to the prose - the content. If you don't like English reading order than learn a different language, don't burden English with an unnecessary option of a second (or 3rd, or 48th) reading order.

this is the main point: rough guesstimate: about half of the jobs we have now are useless or harmful. that is: they do not produce something that is useful for us but only something that is useful within the capitalist system - most often to create artificial demand for something that otherwise would not be needed. a few example: advertising: only has one product: our discontent with what we have. or take planed obsolescence. most goods could easily be much more durable. and then there is "defense" and war. the easy way to create now jobs: bomb a country into oblivion so that you need to build it up from scratch. and then there is gambling and "financial products". etc.. with the ecologic footprint most products have: it would be much better if the people working in those jobs would get payed without creating useless crap. and the ratio of useless jobs vs. useful ones can only increase with more automation... this is why we need an UBI.
