Really? If I were a planetary scientist I would be ecstatic about it. After all there is nothing new in processes that are reasonably understood, whereas something that should not be might just lead into an entirely new field of study. Even if it doesn't, at minimum it adds to what we already know, expanding our knowledge. Even if it's in error, it still contributes to future missions and studies.

Think of the elite for gods sake!
They may have to settle for a super yacht instead of a mega yacht, depriving their families like that for the sake of the world is just too unjust to consider!

I would use a sarcasm tag, but unfortunately I don't think it counts as sarcasm anymore.

But the point still stands, regardless. Tesla, Edison or whomever you substitute. None of them are described as white in any articles I've ever seen whereas most black or others almost always lead with race.

Comment Re:Can we get them to index white inventors? (Score 2) 46

No conspiracy required.

The vast majority of articles on white inventors do not mention race, for example the Wikipedia article on Albert Einstein does not mention race at all, so the search algorithm can't find what isn't there. If you search American inventors, you get a worse result because many articles about American black inventors mention African American in the articles title. United States inventors gives you a better (and more diverse) result.

You get a skewed result from the fact that articles about white inventors rarely, if ever, mention race, while black (or other races) inventors frequently mention race in the article title. As much as I hate Google, that is hardly their fault.

So your searching for something that is not there to find so you use it to fuel yet another B.S. conspiracy theory based on the fact that Google, Bing, Duckduckgo and others basically suck and frequently give bizarre results to a search.

Baidu basically gives you nothing at all, but did include a picture of Minions when I searched on it. Bizarre results indeed.

Damned interesting question! I assumed (incorrectly) that it would of been "Lucky Lindy" Charles Lindbergh. Turns out he was your 19th, however he was the first to do it solo in 1927.

John Alcock and Arthur Brown get the credit for the first in a modified world war one Vickers Vimy bomber fitted with extra fuel tanks in place of the bomb racks in 1919.

Kudos on an interesting historical query!
