I've received that book for Christmas last year, most people saw it and were like, "why would you want that?" Then started flipping through the pages intrigued and almost immediately found something they did when they were a kid, be it chemistry or whatever.

I also have the book Free Range Kids which is also anti-coddling. Good stuff.

This is pretty much the opposite of catering to the "hardcore" gamer crowd, though I guess they probably think that means people who play Call of Duty.

Doubt it, they just opened up an 800 number are simply accepting requests on targets. It sounds like they targeted Escapist because of their recent reporting on their Bethesda hack, but Minecraft and EVE just seems to come from boredom.

I saw this not having seen any of the previous X-Men movies and enjoyed it, found the story between Xavier and Magneto pretty engaging and liked the actors. There was a lot intentional(?) camp though and this has to be the first movie ever where I laughed out loud during a Nazi concentration camp scene. Multiple times.

January Jones is a seriously awful actor though. I guess the Mad Men writers are really good at hiding that, more props to them.

I went with someone who was at least familiar with the other movies and some of the comics, and it was cool asking him "so this guy with the chest laser is going to turn into the guy with the eye laser?"
