Yes. Correct. That's how representative democratic government works. Now if only I get my fellow Americans to understand that. We don't magically get to do takesy-backsies just because we change administrations.

Comment Ban "Rewards" Programs (Score 0) 151

I really think almost all of these BS "rewards" programs ought to be banned. A local grocery store chain has a program that allows you to get a certain amount per gallon off of gas at a specific gas station chain. Look, pal, I don't want to have it dictated to me which gas stations I have to go to, and I don't want you using your reward programs as an excuse to tie the data you're mining on my grocery selections to my gas purchases and to the real name, address, etc, that you tried to get out of me when I signed up for the rewards program. Just quit increasing your grocery prices by however much it takes to fund the reward program, and stop dicking us around.

Also in need of banning while I'm on the subject: retail "charity" programs at checkout. Stop trying to get me to pay against your fair share of the tax burden, because we all know - or should - that you're just taking the charitable write-off for all of those collected donations in your own name at tax time. They all do it now, and some of them have the gumption to do it in ways to try to make us look/feel bad about it if we don't.

Obama said there were 57 states. There *are* 57 states *and* territories. He was tired at the end of a whirlwind campaign tour, and he made a gaffe that, if anything, paid rare honor to places like Guam and Puerto Rico that a lot of Americans tend to forget are even America.

I have several beefs with the man - as someone who voted for him in 2008 and against him in 2012 - but sometimes a guy just has a brain fart.

Biden has gone well beyond that. Between his apparent diminished capacity and the Hunter Biden problem - which, make no mistake, is a real problem - he needs to be removed.

But not to be replaced by Trump or any of the Trump proxies trying to run right now. I'll take senile and corrupt in a more traditional American politician kinda way all day long and twice on Sunday before I'll take that scumbag, and I really just can't understand what right-wingers see in him. The devotion would almost be enough to make me believe in an Anti-Christ if I were at all so inclined.

We need a good, stable, relatively not-corrupt career politician with their wits about them. Someone like Buttigieg or Whitmer, but I'd even take a hard look at Kasich or Haley.

We won't get it. "Times are gone for honest men, and sometimes far too long for snakes." Onward to oblivion. :/

Either he made certain they don't have access, or, there just wasn't anything there that would be useful to Putin.

And really, does he even need that source, when for all we know he has copies of all the stuff that was in Trump's bathroom? Or that was in Hillary's email servers (and the email of everyone else in government that was doing the same thing - the real reason she wasn't prosecuted, because the stink from that would reach too many powerful people, probably in all parties)? Our government is a shitshow, literally and metaphorically.
