champ1991 writes: "As Facebook has continued its rapid ascent, one thing has not been able to shake off questions about how it deals with user data and privacy. This issue is being reviewed again today in Europe, where a group of rights of consumers say that Facebook has missed a deadline, set by the Data Protection Commissioner of Ireland, to make a series of changes to comply with the laws European data protection. That group is now encouraging consumers to take the fight to the next level and make formal complaints to the European Commission on the subject."

It does have sort of an equivalent to that, in the form of a number of articles like "Every person shall have the right to (property|life|...)". That the state may not make a law that restricts these rights (unless otherwise authorized to do so by the constitution) is implied. I'm not sure which rights apply to corporations and to which extent.

This new law will probably be constitutional for the same reason patents and copyrights are. I'm not sure what this reason is since the constitution doesn't specifically mention them, it might be the right to property.
