Home users are on IPv6 because it has been enabled by default since at least Windows Vista. That doesn't mean that their internet connection can handle it as the providers are more interested in finding new ways of throttling traffic and extorting money out of service providers to bother with making improvements to their networks that most customers won't notice and haven't asked for.

When we get to autonomous vehicles, the nay-sayers are are already worrying about how this would permit alleged felons to drive off form robberies all the while taking pot-shots at the police (not having to drive, and all).

Perhaps, but that self-driving car is going to be obeying all traffic laws while making the getaway, including stopping for said police.

Lets hope it doesn't make them run significantly slower ;-)

Nothing is going to happen until they get sued.

Nothing is going to happen until (1) a senior officer at GM has his car hacked, (2) a very public hacking makes security a point on which automakers compete, or (3) they get sued.

Correction: They get sued after multiple deaths have occurred as a result of lax security resulting in a penalty in the hundreds of millions of dollars. (This is not unique to GM, All of the manufacturers will react the same.) You can strike 1 and 2 from the list.

No, but doesn't having 10GB of ripped Justin Beiber songs raise the resale value of a car by a few million dollars? That's money that rightfully belongs to the collection agencies, er, I mean artists. And just because sellers aren't collecting these millions of dollars is no excuse for them to get out of paying the collection agencies, er, artists.

What was wrong with the F-22 that the F-35 was going to fix?

I am out of my element a bit here, but my understanding is that the F22 is an air superiority fighter only, whereas the F35 was supposed to be a multirole aircraft (air-to-air and air-to-ground) with (optional) VTOL features, (which no version of the F22 has) all in the same airframe. It was supposed to be the Windows 8 of fighter aircraft, a single airframe to take the place of a bunch of other craft.

...and apparently, it works about as well as you would expect of those types of solutions...

And, it was (giggle) supposed to (snerk) be (Bwaaaa haa haaa) affordable. Sorry, I can't say that with a straight face.

So, it's a flying Swiss Army Knife. Sure, it has a spork, scissors, tweezers, a nail file, a screwdriver, and a dozen other tools and perhaps even a knife in there somewhere for good measure but it sucks as any of them.
