I would recommend using a cheap, linux-based firewall. You can pick up an embedded board that is meant for that kind of thing, or you could re-purpose some old network hardware. You could probably get this done for less than $50. Once you have the hardware, you can use cron jobs to enable and disable internet access, and you could host a web page that tells people that internet access currently isn't available. Then you would simply tell the firewall to redirect all port 80 traffic to the firewall's IP and block every other port except DNS.

Leaked Memo Says Apple Provides Backdoor To Governments 582

Voline writes "In a tweet early this morning, cybersecurity researcher Christopher Soghoian pointed to an internal memo of India's Military Intelligence that has been liberated by hackers and posted on the Net. The memo suggests that, "in exchange for the Indian market presence" mobile device manufacturers, including RIM, Nokia, and Apple (collectively defined in the document as "RINOA") have agreed to provide backdoor access on their devices. The Indian government then "utilized backdoors provided by RINOA" to intercept internal emails of the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, a U.S. government body with a mandate to monitor, investigate and report to Congress on 'the national security implications of the bilateral trade and economic relationship' between the U.S. and China. Manan Kakkar, an Indian blogger for ZDNet, has also picked up the story and writes that it may be the fruits of an earlier hack of Symantec. If Apple is providing governments with a backdoor to iOS, can we assume that they have also done so with Mac OS X?"

Overclocking rarely causes damage. If you gradually increase the speed, you'll hit the point where your computer isn't stable. However, this is well before the point where you cause permanent damage. As long as you stay reasonable (don't change voltages) you're getting a good performance gain for free. Why not get a 30% performance boost?

Driving without the license plate was legal, parking in the handicap spot was not. Had I been in the area, I would have taken videos of Jobs parking and staying in the spot and sent them to the police and/or calling and reporting everytime the spot with illegaly filled. You don't need a license plate to be towed and good luck finding the car again after it's been removed. People who believe they're better than everyone else and act on those beliefs desevered to be bitchslapped every once in a while.

So you would get fired from apple over a parking spot?
