When performing a Google search on my name (first and last in quotes) I can make out at least three different people on the first page. Which one is me? Which one is the chemist? And which one is the guy who died on a passenger ship in the first half of the 1900s? I know the answer, but how would anyone else?

So, maybe there is a Heide Iravani who has an STD and slept her way to the top. But it may be about a different Heide Iravani than the one who is filing a lawsuit.

You can't trust Google to provide you the information on an exact person.

Yup, the big money being made from WoW is to steal a person's login information. Log into the compromised account and 'trade' the characters property and gold to another character, friendly with the attacker. The gold is then sold for real life money through a third-party website.

I'm not going to say nobody gets fired from IBM. However, from the perspective of a non-IBMer who has friends and contacts with IBMers around the country getting told your position is being cut isn't the same as turn in your badge on the way out. You usually get a couple weeks to a month to slide into a different job. The project you may be working on now may not be important enough to keep it staffed the way it is. But go find another project to work on and you can do a lateral move and keep on working. That's why (IMHO) IBM doesn't want to talk about how many jobs they are cutting because not that many people may really be out of a job.

In the Houston Chronicle this morning there was an interesting blurb about the delay. Basically, the networks want to delay the switch-over because they don't want it to happen in the middle of the season. They are afraid of losing viewers (and thus advertising dollars) from people who aren't ready for DTV. They'd rather wait until spring/summer when they are airing re-runs.

Can someone tell me why people pay per text message still? Verizon doesn't charge me per txt regardless of how many I send or receive or who I send them to and who their provider is. I'll admit, it's wrapped up into my $99 data/phone plan I have. But still, if people are worried about getting charged out the wazoo because they like to text people, get on a plan that includes unlimited text messages.
