China's strength is finding deadly bat viruses, tinkering with them in a lab, then releasing them accidentally on the world.
China didn't accidentally release the virus on the world. They did it intentionally.
Think back to late January 2020. Coronavirus is exploding through Wuhan and scary videos of bodies piling up outside hospitals are going viral on Liveleak. I remember it like it was only a few months ago (well actually I suppose it *was* only a few months ago)
The Communist Party leadership finally realizes that this virus is a super serious problem, they panic, and they give the order to put the city of Wuhan on lockdown. The military puts up roadblocks and stops anyone from leaving the city on foot or by car. All domestic flights are shuttered. And rightly so; you wouldn't want infected people hopping on a flight to other cities and spreading the disease.
But wait a second, they shut down domestic flights, but allow INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS to continue. WTF? What possible rationale could be behind such a move? Why would you prevent people from flying out of Wuhan to Beijing, but keep allowing them to fly to New York or Paris?
The only thing that makes any sort of sense is that the Chinese leadership realized that their country is now fucked by this new virus, so might as well infect rest of the world and bring them down also. Share the misery.
Case in point. A few days later the United States and Australia banned travellers coming into their countries who had been in China within the past 14 days (14 days being what was commonly thought at the time the maximum incubation period of this disease). What did China say in response?
"THAT'S RACIST. There is no reason to ban travelers from China." And for some unfathomable reason, the World Health Organization repeats exactly, verbatim, what the Chinese Communist Party says. "There is no reason to ban flights from China. This is not a pandemic. Restricting travel doesn't work anyways, it could interefere with medical personnel and make the situation worse."
