Comment Uninstalled it in 2 days (Score 2) 543

It took me forever to get it installed on my clean system due to likely high download demand. I thought it ran slower than Windows 8.0, and iTunes hung like crazy when opening. Other programs will likely need updates when this upgrade goes final. They added shutdown to the right click start button menu. I cannot understand why they NEVER thought about making a SHUTDOWN TILE in the first group of tiles. that would have saved them a bunch of early adopter complaints.

I have a free upgrade that I have not installed. What demographic am I? I am perfectly happy with Windows 7 since it has a start button. Windows 8 boot times are a cheat since it is a hibernation mode. Windows 8 is cheap so people can buy stuff from the Windows 8 store. Windows 8 offers no benefits for desktop computing.

I fully expect microsoft to release a patch after outrage of shoving this new interface down people's throats, but there are alternative interfaces out there. I played around with the Classicshell, and it by passes the start screen. However the start screen does flash for about 1 second as it loads.

#3 Create a new Standard User account, and move his data from his old account's Favorites, My docs, Pics, Music, and Videos, etc. Data folders only. He will get fresh temp folders and fresh setting folders for software.

#4 Delete old user account

#5 If he is able to run Firefox with no script, I would highly recommend that move. If he is not able to manage noscript permissions, then just firefox.

What they did has the entire internet talking about it, so it is brilliant. Their current clientele is very small compared to what they need, so it was likely worth the risk of losing some people. Gog.com has extremely high Professionalism since that is what marketing is all about. Using a radical approach to attract people is fine, and they said people would be able to access their games again on Thursday.

I have no problem with what they did, because I do not trust any company. I am at the age where I just do not care or get worked up about what they do. I bought 1 game from them, downloaded it and backed it up so if they ever went out of business I would be in great shape.

The pictures of food in menus and on boxes always look better than the actual product. Disclaimers are now placed on everything stating that the product may differ in some way...etc. We live in a deceitful marketing society where nothing is like it seems.

Well, I am loving SC2. I have always believed that innovation is way overrated. Some people just need any update to their favorite games. When a company innovates and creates a new experience, then everyone complains that they changed the game. Game companies cannot win, and it is a daunting task to try to satisfy everyone.

I think that the game should have LAN play, but I am not someone who uses that feature right now in my life. My main source of entertainment is battle.net. Let me say that the new battle.net is amazing. I can get into any type of game in about 1 minute with millions of people online. Furthermore, no chat rooms = no spammers. I am not being bombarded my immature garbage. I understand why Blizzard was trying to get real names into the picture. They are trying to make the gaming community more mature for everyone to enjoy.

Comment Re:What about winamp? (Score 1) 193

I have been using iTunes since it does the best job of organizing music. I wish it had a smaller footprint, but the interface and features are the best. Also, to have the same features in winamp, you have to pay $20 for their plus version when WMP and iTunes are free. In Ubuntu Linux, I use the default player: rhythmbox.
