You're missing the point. The Volt is a MUCH better car to drive than the Cruze, its not even in the same league or class! It drives and responds like a Caddy with tons of acceleration and has most of the highend luxury features of one. Extremely quiet cabin too. Put your Cruze at $35,000 if you want something even remotely equivilant in luxury factor. Are you expecting to buy the Volt and it be barebones and bland like a Cruze? Seriously now.

People are actually shoving Red Epic's on modded 700E's with stabilization gimbals. They use GPS flight stabilization and automated flightpath software. The price of the camera itself can easily buy a few of these full helicopter setups. AP isn't expensive anymore.

This "Accelerometer" is mechanical. If the elevator completely lost power and the hoist motor brakes for some reason failed to engage (rare as they're supposed to fail closed), the emergency brakes on the car itself would trigger.
