For the record I agree with you. Looking at the history of NSA and NIST and the escalating awareness of encryption and non experts thinking useful QCs are imminent (they are AT LEAST 2 decades away) is the perfect fear environment for sneaking in weaknesses.

OpenWRT is still going strong. The skynet firewall plugin is really nice. And it can act as an adblocker, or you can plug in a separate PiHole. Seriously. OpenWRT FTW

New people come to the office regularly the first few months. Others come in to train them. We also do more zooms and team lunch type stuff. It is not rocket science

The company I work for frankly is slightly below median for what we pay in salary. But we are very flexible with hours and WFH. As a hiring manager I find myself beating out companies with big packages but mandatory butts in office chairs

There is talking to the human officer in front of you. And then there is his cam recording the interaction, being stores for who knows how long in Lord knows what Cloud service and probably nobody in his precinct knows what AI algos check those videos and for what.
