"I couldn't wait to see more of him and that last bit with him and the Yellow Power Ring was awesome."

While it was certainly cool, I didn't see a connection for him using it based in the movie plot. Hal makes the guardians and Sinestro see that Will is good enough and they don't need fear to beat fear. Sinestro even shows up to rescue Hal at the end...there is no plot connection between that and him putting on the yellow ring. Why did he do it? There was no sign of any temptation. No voice in his head egging him on, nothing. He just does it....I don't get it. There is nothing there showing me any reason he would turn at that point in the movie

You wonder why Batman always caught those super-villains? They loved bragging about their exploits. If the Riddler had simply absconded w/ some cash from a bank and not left a calling-card, Batman would have had a far harder time figuring out... Lulzsec obviously has a modicum of skill but all their bragging is going to do is get them caught.

I can testify that planned obsolescence of cameras is already happening. I have a working digital camera from about 1998/1999 era. I still have original cd w/ the drivers and software. It was designed for use w/ windows 98 via a USB cable. It also worked fine with windows 2000/xp. When I built my most current machine w/ windows 7 pro on it, I could not get the camera to work with windows 7. After finding documentation both by Microsoft and Kodak that stated in no uncertain terms that this camera amongst many others would not be supported, I wrote to kodak asking for help (I had nothing to lose), I got a form letter basically saying they were more interested in their newer models. I ended up having to purchase a 3rd party card reader to read the old card that it uses in order to pull pictures off of it.

I foresee some very scary circumstances coming out of this patent from the US dictatorship err *cough* government. I realize there would be ways to stop infrared feeds from getting into a camera that has this technology enabled but the masses won't bother or care.

Definitions: Civil War - 2 factions vying for control of the same government(or football dominance if you live in Oregon and are a college football fan ;-p) through military means (See Ivory Coast of late). Mutiny - Crew rebels against officers and/or Captain on a ship or other crewed vehicle. (See Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl) Barratry - Officers and/or crew rebel against the authority they purport to serve...usually a government (See Hunt for Red October) Note that the so-called US Civil War meets none of these definitions. It is more properly termed a war of secession as one side (The Southern Confederacy) wanted out of the United States to form a separate country...not to overthrow it. Moving on to Anonymous. They claim to have no one in overall control thus none of the 3 terms above should theoretically apply. Dissension in the ranks or secession might describe the situation.

Submission + - Ars Technica loses Facebook page (arstechnica.com)

rilian4 writes: I've been following the ongoing thread over at ars that their facebook page has been blocked with apparently no recourse. Many posters there have detailed their own sagas of inability to address grievances either with facebook blocking pages or w/ other users harrassing them, etc.

Late breaking updates suggest that the size of ars has made facebook sit up and take notice but their facebook page is still down and they have not been given much to go on.
