Right - and the parting out/reselling takes time and energy so the difference would have to be bigger than it is to be worth it to me. I'm going to just wait it out and go without if prices never come down to something less ridiculous. I figure at some point there will be a new generation of cards and someone will figure out a way to defeat the Ethereum mining detection that's being used to gimp them. At that point, I'm hoping to be able to grab one of the flood of used cards that should hit the market.
All the pre-builts I've seen have near-scalper pricing incorporated for the cards. Wouldn't be a bad way to go if you were in the market for a PC anyway but otherwise might as well pay the scalpers and not have to deal with the hassle of selling off the rest of the machine.
