Submission + - Blizard sues SPAM heavy gold sellar.

DaphneDiane writes: "Blizzard announced that they are suing one of the annoying heavily spaming gold sellar peon4hire. Peon4hire had recently been blanket spamming players in World of Warcraft with multi-line messages advertising their power leveling and gold selling business. With the advent of the recently released 2.1.0 patch Blizzard made it easier to report and block these spammers. I've noticed a large decrease in spam while playing since the patch. It used to be that I would get nearly a dozen spams a night but I barely have seen any since."

Submission + - Thousands of ICQ Numbers Deleted

BondGamer writes: Many ICQ users woke up and found their ICQ numbers were no longer working. There is a topic on the ICQ support with more than 1,500 replies. There are pages upon pages of other topics asking what happened. There has been no official response from AOL about what has happened. How would if affect you to one day to find out the instant messenger ID you used for years is suddenly gone?

An anonymous reader writes: Robert Love who was the Chief Architect of Novell's Linux Desktop has resigned today. Robert is a prominent Linux kernel hacker, author and journalist in the Linux community (read more about him in his Wikipedia entry). His blog doesn't specify why he resigned. But after colleague and friend Jeremy Allison's departure from Novell in protest of the Microsoft-Novell deal, this might be the latest fallout from it.

Submission + - The Most Annoying Adsense Questions Ever

crazy4bass writes: "This list is in no particular order and shouldn't downplay the numerous good questions that are asked about this program. The short of it is, these questions are usually asked by people looking to make a quick buck and wondering just how far into a perceived gray area they can go or they have the delusion that someone's going to just give them the keys that will magically make their sites perform. Newsflash, it's not going to happen and if you have to ask most of these questions, you probably shouldn't be trying to use Adsense or any other revenue source in the first place. http://www.realitywired.com/2007/04/09/the-most-an noying-adsense-questions-ever/"

Submission + - openSUSE Hobbled by Microsoft Patents

kripkenstein writes: "openSUSE 10.2 no longer enables ClearType (which improves the appearance of fonts). The reason given on the openSUSE mailing list for not enabling it is:

Note that this feature is covered by several Microsoft patents and should not be activated in any default build of the library.
As reported on and discussed here and here, this matter may be connected to the Microsoft-Novell deal. If so, Novell should have received a license for the Microsoft patents, assuming the deal covered all relevant patents. Does the license therefore extend only to SUSE, but not openSUSE?"

Submission + - Formula for Procrastination Found

kandela writes: "Science Daily and the Universtiy of Calgary report that Calgary academic Dr. Piers Steel has published a paper titled "The Nature of Procrastination: A Meta-Analytic and Theoretical Review of Quintessential Self-Regulatory Failure." in The American Psychological Association's Psychological Bulletin. In it he reveals that most people's New Year's resolutions are doomed to failure, most self-help books have it completely wrong when they say perfectionism is at the root of procrastination, and procrastination can be explained by a single mathematical equation.

From the article "Essentially, procrastinators have less confidence in themselves, less expectancy that they can actually complete a task," Steel says. "Perfectionism is not the culprit. In fact, perfectionists actually procrastinate less, but they worry about it more."

The research is apparently the culmination of 10 years work, however no indication was given of how much time was spent putting it off before it was begun."

We'll be sending out a press notice in a few minutes here too, and I will post that here when its out. Anyway, what that means, is that the NDA is as of right now, lifted. Have fun, all
