Comment Re:You can already buy from alibaba and aliexpress (Score 1) 32

I've ordered several items from aliexpress and haven't had a problem. If I did have a problem, I would have withheld payment, since payment doesn't actually get done until the buyer receives and is satisfied with the product (though you provide your CC# when you order). I'm sure they know the bad reputation buying from China has so they're doing this to overcome that. I made a small purchase first, then bought several more of the same type of items (cycling kit) from the same seller after that purchase went well. You do have to take a "buyer beware" attitude but my experience has been good.

I would also like to point out that not all of my eBay experiences, especially in the early days and certainly not from Eastern European countries, were wonderful. Ah, the adventure of globalization at the personal level!

The correct interpretation is 'Thou shalt not murder'.

Interpretation? Interpretation? Interpretation of what? You mean god left something like killing open to interpretation? What, did he say "Thou shalt not bump off thy neighbor."? Not very smart of god to leave something so important like that up for debate.

What is with the clothes the bikers wear?

Do some 40-mile rides. You'll figure it out. New riders don't understand it at first, of course, and swear they won't become one of those spandex cyclists. Once they start doing longer rides, the light comes on and they figure out why those cotton cargo shorts won't cut it anymore. Happens all the time.

P.S. Cycling clothing doesn't cost $700. It can but, for almost everybody who doesn't buy Rapha, that's not what it costs by a long shot.

You're kidding, right? Chains cost. Cables cost. Cassettes do wear out. Bar tape, lube, tubes, tires, and CO2. Even clothes, sunglasses, and helmets wear out. I love seeing how little I can spend on cycling (I make my own drinks and snacks) but "free"? Nah.

All you have to do is remember what two well armed guys in Hollywood pulled off during a bank heist.

Huh? Two well-armed guys in North Hollywood didn't go up against the U.S. Army. They were up against patrolmen armed with handguns. Yeah, they did fine until SWAT showed up, and SWAT still isn't the U.S. Army.

At this point, two years ago, any reasonable person would say that Eich (a) was divisive and (b) lacked judgement.

A reasonable person could also say that Eich had a different opinion than you. THAT is what you don't get. To you, there is only black and white. Lest you forget, Prop 8 passed. It wouldn't pass today because, since then, some people have changed their minds. That's not good enough for you, though. For you, once a Prop 8 supporter, always a dirtbag. Have fun digging into the past of your friends because I guarantee you that you're going to find something distasteful (to you) in almost every one of them. Getting rid of all those dirtbags should be a very cathartic experience. Then, enjoy your new, solitary life.
